THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE - 10:00AM Sunday School (ZOOM online) - 8:30am
MARCH 21, 2021
Reverend Jeffery Clark, Pastor of Price Chapel
Sermon Title: In Plain Sight Scripture: Luke 12: 54-56
Sharing this time, at this moment, here
at Price Chapel with you warms our
heart. We hope your visit here will be a
life changing and comforting encounter
with God.
At Price Chapel AME Church, our doors
are wide open in hopes to create an
environment of unity filled with love
where you can connect with people, learn
about Christ and grow in your faith.
God has brought you here for a reason. This is a place where you can
work out your soul salvation to be a blessing for God and others. All the
wonderful blessings He has bestowed upon you can be acknowledged
through great works.
So, if you are just checking out the "church scene" and investigating the
claims of Jesus Christ, thank you for allowing us to help you in your
search. However, if you are a committed Christ-follower who wants to
pursue your faith to even greater dimensions, you can find a home here
at Price Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Please call if you need to speak someone at (323) 296-2406. We’re also
here if you would like to meet with someone. To make an appointment
through email write to: [email protected].
Again, we are grateful for your company and encourage you to feel
comfortable to praise and worship in your own way. We believe the more
praises that go up, the more blessings come down.
We love you in the Lord and there is nothing you can do about it!

Doxology and Benediction
LEADER: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the
house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within thy gates, O
Jerusalem. Psalm 122:1-2
PEOPLE: For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had
rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the
tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
LEADER: Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek thy
good. Psalm 122:9
PEOPLE: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord, shall
flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:13
LEADER: Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, (Psalm 84:4) Lord,
I have loved thy habitation, the place where thy honor dwelleth.
Psalm 26:8
PEOPLE: For the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep
silence before Him. Habakkuk 2:20
LEADER: Let the words of our mouth, and the meditation of our
heart be acceptable in thy sight, Oh Lord, our strength and our
Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
ALL: O sing unto the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous
things (Psalm 98:1) …make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the
earth, sing praises. Psalm 98:4
Opening Hymn #450
Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine
1. Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of
glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of
His spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the
day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my
Savior all the day long.
2. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture
now burst on my sight; Angels descending, bring from
above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Refrain
3. Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my Savior am happy
and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with
His goodness, lost in His love.
Refrain
SCRIPTURE READING - NEW TESTAMENT
HEBREWS 5:7-10 (Please Stand and Read Responsively)
LEADER 7: While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and
pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him
from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep
reverence for God.
PEOPLE 8: Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience
from the things he suffered.
LEADER 9: In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and
he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.
ALL TOGETHER 10: And God designated him to be a High Priest in
the order of Melchizedek.
ONLINE GIVING THROUGH TITHE.LY
FROM ALL THAT DWELL BELOW THE SKIES, LET THY CREATOR’S PRAISE
ARISE; LET THY REDEEMER’S NAME BE SUNG, THROUGH EVERY LAND BY
EVERY TONGUE.
LEADER: Hear what Christ our savior saith, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God,
with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.” This is the first
and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy
neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets.
GLORY BE TO THE FATHER, AND TO THE SON AND TO THE HOLY GHOST…
AS IT WAS IN THE BEGINNING, IS NOW AND EVER SHALL BE… WORLD
WITHOUT END. AMEN, AMEN.
“Did you know that Jesus Chris is Lord? Well He is and He loves you and
wants to be your Lord and Savior. A lot of people want to be saved but
just don’t know how.”
Romans 10:9 says: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved.”
Are you willing to pray the Prayer of Salvation?
Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins, I believe that You died on the cross,
was buried, and on the third day God the Father raised You from the
dead. Right now, Lord Jesus, I open the door to my HEART and I receive
you, into my HEART, as my Lord and Savior.
According to the prayer you just prayed, where is the Lord Jesus?
Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you
well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. James 5:15

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus
Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified dead, and buried,
the third day He arose from the dead. He ascended unto Heaven and sitteth
at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to
judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the church universal,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body
and life everlasting. Amen

Black History Tidbit – Women’s History Month Women’s History continues by honoring a few women in the church.
The earliest black female preacher was a Methodist woman simply known as
Elizabeth. She held her first prayer meeting in Baltimore in 1808 and preached
for about 50 years before retiring to Philadelphia to live among the Quakers.
A legacy of African-American women preachers persisted even long after
Elizabeth. Reverend Jarena Lee became the first African-American woman to
preach at the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church.
In 2000, McKenzie became the first woman to be elected as bishop in the
denomination's history. She later served as President of the Council of Bishops,
becoming the first woman to serve as Titular head of the AME Church.
Rev. Carolyn Tyler Guidry, became the first female appointed to presiding elder
in the Fifth Episcopal District, in 1994. As a presiding elder she supervises 19
A.M.E. churches in Los Angeles.
2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your
heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.”
Tithing means you're being obedient to God, so you should give without
expecting anything in return.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – 8:30AM - Adults 9:00AM - 9:30AM - Children
Looking forward to seeing as many people as we can in Sunday
School. Blessings of LOVE.
