Introduction
Dear Families of Cedar Springs,
It is a deep desire of our Children’s Ministry to help parents introduce Jesus to their children through this Scripture Memory Book. Our prayer is that you will use it as a starting point for developing a lifetime habit of scripture memorization for your child. We believe God will use scripture memory in his/her life in four specific ways.
1. To Know Christ. Scripture memory helps kids develop a relationship with Jesus by leading them to the verses that tell them the truth about themselves and God’s plan for their life. (Romans 6:23)
2. To Fight Sin. Most of us know that as we get older, the choices of life present themselves and temptation faces us at every turn. Scripture memory helps kids to “hide God’s Word in their hearts, so that they might not sin against Him”. (Psalm 119:11)
3. To Glorify God. Scripture Memory helps kids understand that they were put on this earth to glorify God in all they do. That means fellowship with Him in prayer and obedience to Him in action. Scripture can help them give glory to God in all they do. (Psalm 86:12)
4. To Know They are Loved. The Bible is God’s love letter to us. Scripture memory helps kids understand that God loves them so much that there is nothing that can separate them from His love through Jesus. (Romans 8:38-39)
May God bless you and your child as he/she memorizes His Word!

Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-17
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
14Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
16In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Beatitudes Matthew 5: 1-12 1Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. 2And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Psalm 23
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house
of the LORD forever.

Psalm 100
1Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made
us, and we are his; we are his people, and the
sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts
with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures
forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7
1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but
have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging
cymbal.
2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all
mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith,
so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am
nothing.
3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body
to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or
boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist
on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices
with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all
things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:8-13
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass
away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child; I thought
like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became
a man, I gave up childish ways.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face
to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
even as I have been fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the
world - our faith. 1 John 5:4

Ephesians 1:3-10
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Ephesians 1:11-15
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,

Ephesians 1:16-23
16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers; 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him;
18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his
power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come.
22 And he put all things under his feet, and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

Psalm 63:1-8
1O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory. 3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I
will lift up my hands.5 My soul will be satisfied as
with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise
you with joyful lips,
6 when I remember you upon my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night; 7 for you have been my help, and in the shadow
of your wings I will sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

Psalm 121:1-8
1I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps
you will not slumber.4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on
your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon
by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep
your life.
8 The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

James 1:2-8
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet
trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith
produces steadfastness.
4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you
may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who
gives generously to all without reproach, and it
will be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for
the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that
is driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For that person must not suppose that he will
receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
