Activity 4 – Generic Chemical & Waste Guidelines
Development of a set of guidelines generally applicable to closed loop scrubber systems
using caustic soda (NaOH) as the neutralising agent
Basis - Lloyd’s Register’s:
● General involvement with scrubbers
● Direct interface with Stena Britannica & Stena Hollandica
● Overall process Risk Assessment with Stena Line - Hoek
Final product: Template for any user which they then develop up as their Process
Instructions by covering the details of the particular ship, system & port interfaces
