Dear Parents and Students,Congratulations to our 2018 Sea Park Science Fair winners. Our
1st-3rd place winners were recognized at our awards program last night.
Thanks to Mrs. Thron, Mrs. McGill, and Mrs. Lizek for the work they did
in preparing the cafeteria for the fair. Special thanks are also extended to
Mr. Scott and the Science Research students at Satellite High School for
judging our projects. Our 1st place winners in each category will represent
Sea Park at the BPS County Science Fair in March 2019.
Congratulations to Sea Park’s Teacher of the Year, Mr. Kerry Knill,
Music Teacher, and our Employee of the Year, Mr. Dominic Scaglione,
Head Custodian. Both employees will be recognized at the BPS ABC
Awards at the King Center on January 23, 2019. They both are
deserving of this honor.
The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization needs your
help to make students’ routes to school safer. We would like to hear your
thoughts on walking and bicycling to school. Please take 5-10 minutes to
complete the Safe Routes to School Survey to help us improve your
child’s route to school. Your input is so extremely valuable! The Safe

The office at Sea Park Elementary will be closed from December 24,
2018-January 8, 2019. Students report back to school on January 10,
2019. There will be no Before and After Care available at Sea Park until
January 10th. From our Sea Park family to yours, we wish you a
wonderful, joyous holiday season.

SCIENCE FAIROn December 13th, Sea Park held their Annual
Science Fair. Thank you to the parents, and teachers of the students in grades 4-6 who entered their projects into the fair. It was evident that a lot of hard work was put into the projects.

SPACE WEEKIn conjunction with the annual Brevard Public Schools
Space Week program and study trip experience, all
6th grade art students at Sea Park created a piece
of artwork using the theme “Destination Space.”
Congratulations to Sierra Poussard and Jamie Senecal
whose posters were chosen to represent Sea Park at the
Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex during the
Space Week events.

Congratulations to the SeaBots! Our Lego Roboticsteam competed againstother Central FloridaSchools at SeminoleScience Charter School onDecember 1st winning First
Place for Project Design. Their next competition will be on January 12th at Melbourne High School. Go Sea Bots!

Computer Science Education Month
The month of December is ComputerScience month. For the 4th year in a row
students at Sea Park will participate in a global program called The Hour of Code. Students will use Blocky and Java Script to code video games, art projects and music. Go to Code.Org to learn more about this wonderful program used for introducing coding to your student. In addition to participating in the Hour of Code students will complete challenges using our robots such as Dot and Dash, OSMO, Sphero, and B-bots.
Polar ExpressThe Polar Express will be pulling into the Sea Park Media Train Station on December 14th-20th. All students in grades PreK-6th will be participating in the experience. Conductor McGill is looking for volunteer help with all the classes. If you are interested in helping, please contact Mrs. McGill by calling 321-779-2050 or email at
Shining Star Attendance
Congratulations to Ms. Patterson’s 3rd grade class and to Ms. Thron’s
5th grade class for having outstanding attendance in November. Pictures of the
winning classes are located on the bulletin board outside the cafeteria.
