WHALE WATCHING: As we cruise the
waters surrounding Antarctica, be
on the lookout for pods of feeding
humpback whales. Sightings of these
majestic creatures are becoming
more common – especially near the
Gerlache Strait.
Dear Fellow Traveler,
I am writing to invite you on an epic adventure to the most remote place on earth. I hope you’ll join me as I sail
the beautiful Seabourn Quest on our Ultimate Antarctica & Patagonia voyages during the austral summer of
2013 and 2014. I have had the good fortune to sail these waters before, and I can attest that the places we will
explore on these voyages guarantee a cruising experience beyond anything you’ve witnessed.
The Patagonian portion alone is an awe-inspiring voyage along some of the most magnificent coastlines in
the world. We will cruise by great sea-run glaciers, thread channels between tall, forested islands, and visit
rustic, fascinating ports and breathtaking landscapes. Add far-flung outposts such as Port Stanley in the
Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas and Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, and it’s a traveler’s dream.
But, of course, the heart of our journey will be spent in the pristine, unspoiled Antarctic. We have equipped
Seabourn Quest to show you Antarctica in style. You will be joined by a skilled expedition staff specializing in
a number of disciplines, who will inform you on board and accompany you ashore to interpret the wonders you
encounter. Landings at historic sites, teeming wildlife colonies, and Zodiac cruising among fantastically shaped
icebergs and abundant sea life will fill each day.
And you will see it all from the gracious, luxurious base of Seabourn Quest, furnished with every comfort and
amenity you could desire, and a staff dedicated to filling your time on board with Seabourn moments that
match the wonders outside.
I have experienced Antarctica before, and I can promise you that, if you sail with me on Seabourn Quest, you
will discover the White Continent in a way that no one has before.
I hope that I may welcome you on board to share one of these voyages.

Gerlache Strait ■■ This deep, scenic channel is home to Gentoo, Adélie and
Chinstrap penguins as well as pods of feeding humpback whales. Depending on
weather and ice conditions, your veteran expedition staff will select the best spots to
venture ashore. Explore alongside naturalists, scientific experts and digital
photography coaches who will come along to help you understand and capture incredible
memories of your adventures among the Antarctic wildlife and scenic splendor.
Onboard debriefings, both organized and casual, are a chance to share your
day’s events and hear what your fellow travelers have seen and done.
Chilean Fjords ■■ Day after day, your ship glides between towering peaks, some polished and others densely forested. Silvery waterfalls dance from the
heights, glittering like tinsel against the stone. A massive, wrinkled river of ice descends to a glowing,
blue-white wall at the head of its bay.
Puerto Montt ■■ Trek among ancient trees, zip line over canyons or cast for
legendary Chilean trout in Chile’s verdant Lake District.

South Georgia Island ■■ Abundant green vegetation will greet you as you arrive. The seas here are rich in nutrients and food, supporting huge populations of penguins, seals and birds. Whales, too, are returning after their long decline due to over-hunting. Few places are as remote and difficult to reach, making your visit an even more exceptional privilege.
Drake Passage ■■ All eyes will be watching flocks of fascinating seabirds flit, soar and
swoop to survey your ship. Noble albatrosses glide effortlessly just above the waves,
and petrel squadrons shadow the ship and patter across the surface like ballerinas en
pointe. We’ll be watching for whales here too, before heading back inside for a Seabourn
Conversation to deepen our understanding of the splendors we’re witnessing.
Port Stanley ■■ Stanley’s cathedral, the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere, is marked by an arch made from whale jawbones. The town’s roofs are painted in different cheerful hues, and the islanders are proud of their sheep, penguins and unshakeable self-reliant tenacity.
