Welcome to the Liverpool Hope Student Enterprise Society. The newest society at Liverpool Hope, we are going to be run exclusively by students,

for students, with the aim to hone and enhance the entrepreneurial talent in Hope and to give our members a direct link to the corporate

world, helping prepare them for life after their degree.

The society that helps enterprising students develop and achieve their ambitions by offering motivation, advice, resources and opportunities.

Using the platform that we are aiming to build, we want to bring to you a range of innovative events featuring some of Liverpool’s leading entrepreneurs and

corporate leaders, workshops and garage sessions to enhance your skill sets and exciting competitions to showcase your potential! We have a few surprises lined

up, so be sure to watch our space.

This year, we are delighted to be looking for a brand new team of the most creative, driven and FUN people. Join us in shaping the entrepreneurial culture in

Hope and beyond, and be a part of this dynamic community.

Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, film–maker or a sports coach; have an idea you’ve been playing with but need that extra bit of inspiration or want to develop skills to become more employable in today’s economic climate, either way, you’re

sure to find yourself at home at Hope’s Enterprise Society.

In the belief that “Be enterprising, be successful ”, Hope’s Enterprise Society is open to all -undergraduates, postgraduates and members of staff (in an advisory role),

from all disciplines.

Hope’s Enterprise Society is for movers and shakers— individuals who want to go out into the world and make a difference.

The society is aimed at proactive students who would like to run a business at some point in the future or those who simply have an interest in business and enterprise in general.

Members can expect to: • Develop their enterprise skills through a series of business-related challenges and events.• Meet like-minded students and local entrepreneurs.• Find out about the advice and funding available to students in the university and city.

• Gaining valuable advice and support.

• Learning and developing your business skills

• Networking and meeting exciting new people.

• Committee members have the opportunity to meet students from other universities at conferences and courses.

Where will you fit in?

In order to provide you with the best opportunities, Hope Student Enterprise will function via a successful team based structure. Here is an overview of the teams and what they will do:

Corporate Relations Team-  Research and develop corporate network base-  Manage and maintain relationships with sponsors and strategic partners-  Match the needs of partners with those from other teams

Finance Team-  Build offers and deal packages for our sponsors and partners-  Manage the budget and expenses of the club-  Develop financial based- activities and events -  Manage the accounting system and provide transparency

Media Team- Build and review the marketing strategy of the club-  Ensure coverage of the events and manage the press publicity of the club-  Design advertising proposals and potential events

Enterprise Team- Responsible for the entrepreneurial activities of the club-  Co-operates with the other teams to:   -  Build entrepreneurial events   -  Create and support business competitions   -  Build a network of entrepreneurs and angel investors

Project Team-  Acts as supporting team to the internal management of the club- Responsible for the development of committee social projects- Responsible for external projects undertaken with strategic partners

Events and ActivitiesHope Student Enterprise Society will be organising a series of events and activities throughout the year.

BECOME AN AMBASSADOR Ambassadors promote the society and its events throughout their year of their course. In addition, ambassadors seek out and collect feedback from their year group about HES and their events. This unique position gives added responsibility and is perfect for any social butterfly.

We specialise in supporting creative industries entrepreneurs, graduates and social enterprises

Liverpool Universities Social Entrepreneurship Competition Do you have an idea for a new social venture?Want to win up to £5,000 and a tailored support package to help you explore the viability of turning your idea into a social enterprise?

Pacificstream in partnership with UnLtd and HEFCE are running a competition to search for tomorrows social entrepreneurs.To be eligible applicants must have an idea for a social venture that will create positive change within their community and must be either a member of staff or a student at Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Liverpool, Hope University or LIPA.Applications must be submitted by 5pm, Friday 22nd October 2010 and will be judged by an independent panel. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 1st November 2010.Eight finalists will be invited to present their ideas and compete for five financial prizes of between £500 and £5000 each plus a tailored package of business support at a Dragons Den Style final to be held on Thursday 25th November 2010.Existing organisations, groups or those with a constitution will not be eligible to apply for a Catalyst Award.
