Sco� RJ Harada, AIA [Architect] - Sco� is the Managing Principal of INK and is involved in the planning,
design, project management, and construc�on of a wide range of community, commercial, government, and
renova�on/ altera�on projects. He obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawai’i
at Manoa, and joined the firm as a student intern. Since that �me, he has completed mul�ple award-winning
projects at all stages of his career. He looks forward to solving the complexi�es that come with each project,
while building the firm’s reputa�on and maintaining its ethos.

Top Garden on the 4th floor of the Hawaii Conven�on Center. Pupus and drinks will be hosted by Computers and
Structures Inc.
Blake Inouye [General Contractor]- Blake is a project manager at Ralph S. Inouye Co. Ltd., a local general
contractor. He brings a valuable and relevant perspec�ve to construc�on with his background as a consul�ng
structural engineer at KPFF’s San Francisco office. He has wri�en numerous publica�ons during his career. Blake
is a graduate of Tu,s University and the University of California, Berkeley where he earned his master’s degree
in Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials.
Owen Crabtree, P.E., LEEP AP [Mechanical]– Owen is a Team Leader at InSynergy Engineering, Inc where
he has worked for the last 12 years. He has a wide breadth of mechanical engineering experience ranging
from MEMS power genera�on, piping and systems design for vitrifica�on of nuclear waste, and is now
providing consul�ng mechanical engineering services. Recent projects he has worked on range from new 21st
century schools, various dry dock projects at Pearl Harbor, and a new 2.2 MW cogenera�on project in Hawaii.
Tony Lau, P.E., ENV SP, F.ASCE [Civil] - Tony is currently the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)
Hawaii, Capital Improvements Civil Engineering Design Branch Manager and Technical Discipline Coordinator. Prior
to joining NAVFAC, he spent 24 years in consulting working for HDR and Hawaii Pacific Engineers. Tony has been
involved with ASCE at the Section, Region, and Society level for 27 years. He is currently the ASCE Society Director
from Region 8.
Glenn Miyasato, Ph.D., P.E. [Structural] – Glenn has 31 years of experience as a structural engineering
consultant, with experience working on new and existing buildings and infrastructure. He is a past member of
the State Hazard Mi�ga�on Forum, was a charter member of the Hawaii State Earthquake Advisory
Commi�ee, and is a past-president of the Structural Engineers Associa�on of Hawaii and the Hawaii Sec�on
of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Goal: The goal of this event is to provide a conduit for students and young, up-and-coming professionals to meet and
interact with experienced, professionals in the construc�on industry to learn and develop new skills and grow their
professional networks.

Format: Par�cipants will be divided into small groups and will meet with each of the mentors in a more personal seJng.
They will be able to ask various ques�ons about what each of the mentor’s roles and responsibili�es are in a typical
construc�on project.
