On Page Optimisation On page optimisation is the process of making your site as relevant as possible to your chosen keywords. The below is a brief guide that should give you an idea of how well optimised your site is.
Content Your content is the single most important factor in making your site relevant to search queries. You should have an optimised page for each service you offer and would like to rank for, and each page should have a good amount of relevant content. Please see below for word count on what we perceive to be some of your main service pages (body text only).
• Homepage – 96
• Our Services -‐ 46
• Gallery -‐ 25
From our initial research, we would recommend additional content for certain pages within your site. If required, we would be able to advise on what additional content could be included on these pages. We would also recommend the creation of new pages to better target keywords relating to the services that you offer. Page Titles & Meta Descriptions
Page titles are a highly important factor in telling users and search engines what each page is about. They should be targeted at your chosen keywords but also look natural at the same time, additionally, each page title should be unique. After looking through the titles currently implemented on the site, they need to be re-‐written to be more effective in terms of helping rankings, although the majority are currently of a good standard. This process may also help with click through rates as page titles are displayed on your listings on the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Meta Descriptions are also important. Although they don’t effect rankings directly – they show up in the SERPs and, if written and targeted correctly, they can make your listing more likely to be clicked by searchers. Unique descriptions have not been implemented on the majority of pages that we looked at, which should be seen as a missed opportunity to gain additional traffic.

Meta Description
Header Tags
Implementing relevant header tags on pages within you site is another way to tell search engines/users what your page is about. They are also important for breaking down information and can help with rankings. Header tags have not been implemented on the site, which is not seen as best practice for SEO. Images
When optimising images, it is important to consider various elements. Most importantly images should be named correctly (to increase relevance), alt text should be provided (again for relevance, and also to describe the images for when it
cant be shown/seen), and size should be considered (quality should be good, but size should be kept low as to decrease loading times). On the whole, images are fairly well optimised throughout the site, however alt text and targeted image names seem to be missing, which should be rectified.

Internal Linking
Internal linking is imperative for spreading ‘authority’ around the site. Certain pages will always gain more backlinks from external sites than others – this increases their ‘authority’ in the eyes of the search engines. It is important to then spread this authority appropriately throughout the site. Currently, internal linking has been used on certain parts of the site, but could certainly be used more effectively to aid rankings.

Off Page Optimisation Off page optimisation is the process of gaining ‘authority’ for your site by acquiring links from various source across the web. Quantity and quality of links should both be considered when building a link following – although the quality of your backlinks is by far the more important.
Number Of Links
Although not completely accurate, the graph below gives you a general idea as to where the site is at in terms of number of backlinks.
The tool used to create this graph doesn’t filter out links that don’t really add to the authority to your site – it simply displays numbers over time. As an estimate, there are 0 links pointing to your site across the web. This would need to be improved to give the site the potential to rank organically.
Quality Of Links
A measure of the quality of your links is the Page/Domain Authority tool provided by SEOMoz, which works in a similar way to Google’s PageRank system. Your site is given a score between 0 – 100 based on the quality of links coming back to the site.
Currently, the website’s homepage has a Page Authority rank of 1 and Domain Authority rank of 1, which again, we would look to improve this through a sustained link building campaign.

Conclusion The above analysis doesn’t cover all aspects of search engine optimisation, but it does look at some of the main areas and should give you a good insight as to how well optimised the site currently is. There are certain areas of the site that need to be looked at to improve on page optimisation (additional content, page titles, descriptions, etc). Following this, a link building campaign should be considered in order to increase the authority of the site, giving it the ability to outrank competitor sites.
