sec news d i9~~, Issue 89-199 CIVIL PROCEEDINGS COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST SSF, INC., OTHERS The Denver Regional Office (ORO) filed a Complaint on September 29 in the U.S. Dis- trict Court for the District of Colorado seeking permanent injunctive relief against SSF, Inc., headquartered in Easton, Pennsylvania, and James Anthony Laiacona and Tracey Etelson Laiacona both of Stewart, Florida. The Complaint alleges, among other things, that SSF and Laiacona violated the antifraud provisions of the securities laws in connection with a 1987 public offering by failing to amend a Form S-18 regis- tration statement, filed with the Denver Regional Office under the name Hipeak Inter- national Corporation in December 1986, to disclose, among other things, that the company had undergone a change in control, and that the new control person, Laiacona, was subject to a federal court injunction and an administrative bar issued by the Commission for previous securities laws violations. The Complaint also alleges that Etelson and SSF filed false financial statements with the Commission in a Form 8-1 wi th respect to SSF' s acquisition of Special Services Freight, Inc. It further alleges that SSF, aided and abetted by Etelson, has not filed required periodic reports since August 1987. (SEC v. COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST SSF, INC., OTHERS

The Denver Regional Office (ORO) filed a Complaint on September 29 in the U.S. Dis-trict Court for the District of Colorado seeking permanent injunctive relief againstSSF, Inc., headquartered in Easton, Pennsylvania, and James Anthony Laiacona andTracey Etelson Laiacona both of Stewart, Florida.
