Greetings Members,
Hope your summer plans are in full swing, and that you are getting outside to paint/
sketch, enjoy nature, hike/bike, and enjoy your friends and family.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the exciting things yet to come for 2017: LaVone
Sterling’s Mini-Workshop (September 10th . SIGN-UP on the SPS Website TODAY),
Signature Review Applications (September 1st Deadline), On-Line Signature Member
Show (October), SPS Small Works Exhibit/Sale (December/January), and the PAA/
SPS Holiday party in December.
At this time we are seeking additional help from our members. Volunteers are a very
important part of SPS! We would like to continue offering a full-schedule of events in
2018. Perhaps you have unique skills to share or want to acquire new skills
working for fellow artists and YOU? Additionally, many of the open board posi-
tions are jobs that can easily be done “remotely” via email and Skype, etc!
7 VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED for the following 2018 SPS Board Positions:
Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, Internet/Website Manager,
Exhibitions Chairperson/Committee, Publicity, IAPS Liaison
If you are interested please contact me at (916) 771-3805.
You may not be aware that the current Treasurer (Linda McCann) and Publicity (Jean
Stiles) board officers have served 3+ years, and the Newsletter Editor (Pat Stoddard
Aragon) and Hospitality (Alice Mork) officers have served 2-years. The current Presi-
dent, Vice-President (Gloria Vernon) and Membership (Karen Keys) board officers
will continue for 2018. All open 2018 SPS Board positions will be “elected” in Octo-
ber – and our first order of business is the exciting Bi-Annual ‘Pastels-On-High Inter-
national Show’! Come join in the fun!
Also, we are always looking for new ideas to help spread the word about the wonder-
ful medium we all love: PASTELS! We encourage you to forward your ideas via
email to: [email protected]
Hoping to hear from you soon, and I look forward to seeing you all in September for
our autumn General Meeting/Demonstration!
