Section A: Directed Writing

You achieved outstanding results in your final examination last year. Your cousin, who is

about to sit for his/her examination this year, has written to you asking for advice on the

examination. Write a letter to him/her the strategies for tackling examinations and give

advice on what to do. Use the notes below to write your reply.

When writing the letter, you should remember to:

Lay out the letter correctly (address, greeting, closure)

Provide one more strategies of your own

Remember that your letter is to your cousin

For your letter, you will receive up to 15 marks for the format and content points and up to

20 marks for the quality of your writing.
