Background Information for Workshop
Section B
The steering group prepared a workshop day, which was to be attended by stakeholders and statutory consultees of the Cornwall Council. A list of invitees was agreed by the steering group. This included landowners, stakeholders and statutory consultees.
The format of the workshop was agreed by the steering group. The workshop was hosted by CPR Regeneration. Facilitators from Cornwall Council, West 2 team chaired the workshop groups. Drawers from csa-architects documented the discussions on large plans.
Cornwall Council prepared the base drawings for the workshop. Csa-architects prepared a workshop information pack which included background about the previous masterplan for the area and the current proposals for the EW link road. A walk across the framework site before the workshop day was organised by Cornwall Council’s major project team. Workshop attendees were invited the observations and discussions of the site walk were documented and included as background information during the workshop day.

B.2. Workshop Information Pack
An information pack was prepared to provide background information for the workshop. This contained more detailed information and key fi xed parameters of the Framework Study Area such as:
• Conservation Area with proposed extension area, World Heritage Site, Site of Special Scientifi c Interest, signifi cant historic buildings
• Topography constraints of steep valley edge, fl at area of warehouses, the high plateau created by Williams Travel, protection issues of mine shafts
• The proposed East-West Link with new roundabout, new bridge, Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) with open leat and sub road links towards North and South
• The previous Master Plan prepared for Porthia in October 2006, covering a signifi cant part of the Framework Area
