TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF MATERIALS WITH LIST OF APPROVED BRANDS

(NOTE : In all cases Latest I.S. Code will be applicable & followed)

The work shall be executed using all material involved in strict accordance with the standards norms, specifications and properties laid down in CPWD specifications. However all materials shall be of approved quality and manufacture / makes / brands. List of materials of approved brands and manufacturers is appended below as a part of tender for using material in the execution of work with the prior approval of sample of each material from the Architect/Employer. Unless otherwise shown on the drawings or mentioned in the schedule of Quantities or anywhere in the contract the quality of materials, workmanship, dimensions etc in respect of the main featuring material such as glass, boards, plywood, mica, wood, electrical fittings and fixtures, Air conditioning etc. etc.

Material for filling

Shall be selected material as specified for filing and shall be free from building rubbish or organic decomposed material. They shall be obtained either from excavation or brought from outside, as specified, in the schedule of items. Black Cotton Soil shall not be used for filling without permission of the Architect/ Employer.



SECTION –XI

INTERIOR WORK SPECIFICATIONS 1 False Ceiling (Armstrong)

Providing and fixing Armstrong (Fine Fissured Micro Look with Tagular Edge using 15mm Grid sections) false ceiling of size 24”x24” at levels as shown in the drwng. from FFL. Rate shall be inclusive of providing the total system with installation etc.. The contractor has to maintain all tiles in good order and replace the defected tiles (at his own cost) before handing over the site for Branch Operations (till Inauguration).

2 False Ceiling (Gypsum Board)

Providing and fixing ½” thk. Gypsum India board false ceiling at levels as shown in the drg. From FFL. Rate shall be inclusive of all Gypsum India components contained G.I. perimeter channels of size 0.55 thick having one flange of 20mm and another flange of 30mm and a web of 27mm alongwith perimeter of ceiling, screw fixed to brickwall/partition with the help of nylon sleeves and screws, at 610mm centres. The suspending G.I.intermediate channels of size 45mm, 0.9mm thick with two flanges of 15mm each from the soffite at 1220mm centres with ceiling angle of width 25mm x 10mm x 0.55 thick fixed to soffite with G.I. cleat and steel expansion fastners at every 610mm c/c. Ceiling sections of 0.55mm thickness having knurled web of 51.5mm and two flanges of 26mm each with lips of 10.5mm are then fixed to intermediate channel with the help of connecting clip and in direction perpendicular to the intermediate channel at 457mm centres. 12.5mm tapered edge Gypboard is then screw fixed to ceiling section with 25mm drywall screws driver or drilling machine with suitable attachment. The boards are to be jointed and finished so as to have a flush look which includes filling and finishing the tapered and square edge of the boards with jointing compound & joint paper tape. Rate shall be inclusive of Cut outs for A/c machiness, spot lights, light fixtures, A/C. Grills, fire and security systems cut outs, All Sections should adhere to the manufacturers guidelines. Vertical sides visible will be measured.

Note:- Wooden Batten duly finished polished etc. as shown in the drawing enclosed on false ceiling of Z.M. Office, D.Z.M. Office & Conference hall shall be included in the rate mentioned above.

3 Entrance Door

Providing and fixing Entrance Door (glazed) as per drawing no.11 in Silver Anodised aluminium door section (Jindal make) on top and bottom, glazed with 12mm thick tempered glass of approved make with etching and frosting. Item to include floor springs, lock, all necessary hardware of Stainless Steel finish as approved by the Architect Bank complete in all respects.

4 Gypsum Board Partition

Providing and fixing having composite thickness of 100mm Gyp Board partitions consisting of frame and double skin 15mm thick glass reinforced gypsum (CRG) board manufactured by spray suction technique with high strength plaster of paris conforming to IS 8272 and glass fibre of E class or A class or N class in the form of roving not less than 2.55 by weight of plaster of paris and confirming to IS 11320 including providing and fixing frame work made of special section power pressed from MS sheet and galvanized with zinc coating of grade 175 and consisting of floor and ceiling channel 70mm wide having equal flanges of 34mm width 0.5mm thick fixed to



floor and ceiling channel 70mm wide having equal flanges of 34mm width 0.5mm thick fixed to floor/ceiling at the spacing of 610 mm center to center with dash fastener of 12.5mm diameter 40mm length and the studs of 70mm wide having one flange of 34mm and other flange of 36mm and 0.5mm thick fixed vertically within flanges of the floor and ceiling channel and placed at the spacing of 610mm center to center by 6mm diameter bolts and nuts and studs at both end of the partition fixed flush to wall with rawl plugs at the spacing of 450mm center to center and fixing of GRG board to either side of frame work by 20mm long drive all screws on studs, floor and ceiling channels at the spacing of 300mm center to center, including jointing and finishing to a flush finish with recommended joint filler, joint paper tape and joint finisher and one coat of primer suitable for GRG board and two coats of plastic emulsion as per manufacturer specification complete in all respect.

5 Partly Glazed Full Height Partition

Providing and fixing partition framing shall consist of teak wood Section 65 mm x 65 mm (Wall Thickness 2 mm) @ 2'0" C/C Both ways Horizontally and Vertically. The framing shall be finished with 8 mm thk. Commercial ply. Rose wood shade veneer ply shall used complete & finished with melemine polished on both side shall be fixed from both sides of ply by Provided 4" high skirting in 1.00 mm thk. approved laminate to fixed as per drawing and direction. Rate shall be inclusive of necessary hardware items, etc. Complete. but 10mm modi guard make clear float glass with itching as per given drawing shall be provided as directed by the architect. Fixed with ¾” teak wood mouldings both sides duly polished.

6 Partly Glazed Low Height Partition

Providing and fixing partition framing shall consist of Teak wood Section 65 mm x 65 mm (Wall Thickness 2 mm) @ 2'0" C/C Both ways Horizontally and Vertically. The framing shall be finished with 8 mm thk. Commercial ply by on both side 1.00 mm thk. approved shade Laminate shall be fixd from both sides of ply. Providing 4" high skirting in 1.00 mm thk. approved laminate to fixed as per drawing and direction. Rate shall be inclusive of necessary hardware items, etc. Complete. but of low ht with ¼” thk. ply on both sides finished in 1.0 mm. thk laminate as per the drg. A 3” x 1” wooden facia with champhered edge is to be provided on all external edges & finished in mellamine as per details. Providing and Fixing inserted Soft board / White boards maintaining the vertical surface lines and no extra measurements would be taken for the soft boards / white boards.

e) WORK STATION

Providing and laying a desk of over all size of top as mentioned. It shall consist of ¾” thk. Comm. Ply top as per design (double edge on the front and back with 1 1/2" thk half round moulding on the edges) supported on ¾” thk. Comm. Ply verticals. Suitable (as per Architects design) teak



wood moulding with mellamine polish shall be provided to the edge of the top. A ¾” thk. Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply apron shall be provided as per Architects design with necessary pattern. The Table top should be finished with 1.5mm Laminate (suede finish) of approved make and all other external to be finished in 1.0 mm. Thk. Laminate (suede finish). Each top should be provided with 3" dia Aluminium wire manager of approved quality near the CPU / Monitor position as shown in drawing. polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect.

1 no. Shelf for CPU to be provided below the desk as shown in the drg. All the inner surfaces shall be finished with 0.5 mm thick white laminate. 1no. Computer key board tray (either ready made PVC Type / made to the order as per architects design using 3/4" thk Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply base and 1" x 2" round edged moulding on the front fixed with telescopic/double (Hafele/Albihari/solo make) approved sliders) A drawer unit as shown in the drg shall be provided. 3 nos of drawers with 1.0 mm. Thk. Laminate shall be provided. Drawer shall consist of 3/4" thk. Comm. Ply sides, back and 1/2" thk. Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply base. Facia of drawers shall be of ¾” thk. Comm. Ply finished in 1.0 mm. Thk. Laminate (suede finish) and with a teak wood moulding on top/bottom edge for handle. 1” gap to be maintained between each drawer. Each drawer shall slide on a pair of telescopic drawer sliders (Hafele/ebco). The inside portion of draws to be finished with white laminate. The four seats of the workstation shall be separated with modesty panel of 18" HP made with frosted glass & fixed on top of table with SS clips as required & including soft board panel as per drawing.

Rate shall be inclusive of all necessary approved fittings like locks Godrej make/Vijayan) for drawers and any miscellaneous hardware items.

8 Full height Storage

Providing and fixing storage units of full height as per drawing. They shall consist of 19mm thk. comm. ply top, sides, back, bottom, shelves and shutters. The bottom of the storages shall be at 4” from FFL. The top of storages shall be 7'-0" ht. The shutter shall be fixed with 4 Nos. 4" long stainless steel hinges of approved make & teak wood lipping finished with melamine polish & laminate of merino approved shade with approved Greenlam/ Formica/ laminate on all the shutter and shelf facias as per drawings. Division of the shutters shall be made equally according to the length of the storages (as approved by Bank/ architect). All the external surfaces shall be finished with 1.0mm thk. Laminate (suede finish) of approved make. 19mm thk. Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply shelves removable type supported on side teak wood battens on both sides at 18” interval (approximately / divided equally) shall be provided. All inner surfaces shall be finished with 0.5 mm laminate on all sides including the shutters. Back face of cabinet shall be finished with dark brown enamel paint over raw plywood surface. Rate shall be inclusive of all necessary approved fittings like hinges, locks, 100mm long SS brushed finish handles, tower bolts, locks and any necessary hardware items. The top ply edge should be fitted with 19mm x 8mm size teak wood moulding finished with melamine polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect.



9 LOW HT. STORAGE Providing and fixing storage units of low height as per drawing. They shall consist of 19mm thk. Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply top, sides, back, bottom, shelves and shutters. The bottom of the storages shall be at 4” from FFL. The top of storages 2'-6" ht. The shutter with 3 Nos. 4" long SS hinges of approved make & teak wood lipping finished with melamine polish & laminate of approved shade with Greenlam/ Formica/ Merino / laminate on all the shutter and shelf facias as per drawings. Division of the shutters shall be made equally according to the length of the storages (as approved by Bank/ architect). All the external surfaces shall be finished with 1.0mm thk. Laminate (suede finish) of approved make. 19mm thk. Century/ Greenply/ Kitply Commercial Ply shelves removable type supported on side teak wood battens on both sides at 18” interval (approximately / divided equally) shall be provided. All inner surfaces shall be finished with 0.5 mm laminate including the shutters. Back face of cabinet shall be finished with dark brown enamel paint over raw plywood surface. Rate shall be inclusive of all necessary Neekikich/ Godrej/ Hafele fittings like hinges, locks, 100mm long stainless steel brushed finish handles, tower bolts, locks and any necessary hardware items. The top ply edge should be fitted with 19mm x 8mm size CP teak wood moulding finished with melamine polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect.

10 CONFERENCE ROOM TABLE for 37 person

IN LAMINATE FINISH duly fitted with hidden type workable mice system having all electrical wiring duly attached with system. 2'-6" central cut for service & projections & 2'-6" table top on both side with a total width of 7'.6". Providing and making a table of over all size of top as mentioned above. It shall consist of 19mm thk. Commercial Ply make Century/ Greenply / Kitply top as per design (double edge on outer edge with 37mm x 25mm thk moulding with steam beach wood on the edges) Ply inter connected with boxing 4" x 6" (as approved by bank / architect). All external surfaces to be finished in 1mm laminate of approved make Greenlam/ Formica/ Merino/ Kitlam (sude finish). polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect . Rate shall be including of detailed miscellaneous accessories. Table shall be selected by the Zonal Manager & Architect.

11 Dining Table (3'-0" dia)

Providing readymade 12mm thick glass circular glass top dining tables of 3' diameter with readymade stainless steel cross leg frame size 38mm x 2mm thick. The table top shall have polished edge on all sides and with suction cups in base to hold glass top. (Dinning hall Table shall be selected by the Zonal Manager & Architect.

12 Supplying wooden planter box (approx. 350x350x450mm high) made of 19mm thick BWR grade

block board, finished with 1.00mm laminated sheet of approved shade and quality. Free edges of block boards shall be provided with polished assam champ/teakwood wood lipping (6mm thick)

13 HARDWARE (a) Providing and fitting door closer (viscous hydraulic type) as per I.S. specifications. 14 Providing and fixing in position notice boards as per drawing and conforming to the following

specifications (size 3'-0" x 2'-0")



Basic Frame Work

Well sensoned partial or kail wood sections, treated with two coats of wood preservatives, minimum 50 x 25mm at suitable horizontal / vertical spacings not exceeding 600mm c/c.

Skin membrane 4mm thick BWR grade plywood over which 12mm thick approved quality soft board cladded with fabric of approved shade and quality.

Edge moulding All free edges shall have polished 2nd class teak wood moulds of approved shape (finished 50 x 25mm sections) with sprit polish in mat finish.

15 Vertical Blinds

Providing & fixing 100 mm wide vertical blinds of approved make complete with head rail of extruded anodized high strength aluminium alloy. Head rail shall have 25mm decorative insert on either side of head rail. Control units shall be ‘Derlin’ (Celon) and shall be of tilting control and traverse code pulleys. The runner shall moulded from ‘Derlin’ (celon) with an antifriction additive. The spacer shall be made of stainless steel brackets for installation to be 14 gauge galvanized spring steel. Louver fabric shall be polyester viscouse/ polyester yarn, dyed in fast colours job to be complete in all respects and to the approval of the Architect.

16 WOODEN PANELLING

Providing and fixing panelling on wall. Framing shall consist of Aluminum Section 50 mm x 40 mm ( Wall Thickness 2 mm) @ 2'0" C/C. Both ways horizontally and vertically on the wall. This framing would be covered by ¼” thk. Ply & Road wood vineer finished with malimen polished. Wooden moulding, lipping etc. as directed by Architect shall be provided wherever required.

17 Sofa chairs

Supplying sofa chairs of teak wood frame for seat and high back and 4 legs complete with 19 mm thick commercial board base and cushion seat or as per design/drawings details made of 6” thick high density (40 HD) rubber cushion of classic or approved and tapestry at the rate of Rs.250/- mtr. Complete in all respect in common public area, teak wood frame etc. to be or spirit polished (minimum 2 coats on 1 base coat) complete in all respect & to the approval by the Architect.

Providing and making corner / side tables of above mentioned size as per architectural drawing. Table top shall consist of 12 mm. Thk. float glass with champhered edge (beveled edge) fitted to the frames with necessary arrangement. The base shall be made up of teak wood frame as directed by the Bank / Architect.



It should be with 4 Nos of 35mmx35mm for vertical members tied to each other with horizontal members of 20mm x 35mm frames at bottom and All wooden frames to be finished with melamine polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect / Engineer-in-charge.

Supplying chairs of following specifications complete as per drawings / requirements. i) ZM / DZM Chair :- Godrej Make to be Purchased Directly from Godrej Company after

getting approval from the Zonal Manager / Architect. The seat & back are made of 1.20cm thick hot pressed plywood upholstered with fabric and polyurethane foam together with moulded ABS seat & back covers. The back foam should be designed with contoured lumber support for extra comfort having seat size 51x47 cm and back size 48x68cm approx. Overall size of the chair Depth 70 cm x width 70 cm x height 106 - 123.5cm seat ht. -44 - 45 cm

The polyurethane foam should be moulded with density =45 ± 2 kg/m3 and hardness + 20 ± 2 kg on Hampden machine at 25% compression. The chair should be provided with a synchrotilt mechanism which should offer features like forward tilt, self regulating tilt tension + Manual override, 4 position tilt locking and anti shock back mechanism which prevents the back rest from hitting the user when the lock should be released. The backrest consist of a drop lift mechanism, which can be adjusted in the range of 6.5 cm and can be locked in 5 steps for the better lumbar support.

One piece armrests are made of black integral skin polyurethane reinforced with MS insert with 50-70 Shore 'A' hardness. The armrests are scratch and weather resistant. The armrests are fitted to the seat with armrest brackets made of 0.5cm thick HR steel.Size 5.5cmx31 cm. The permanent contact mechanism is designed with 360° revolving type, 14° maximum back tilt only and tilt tension adjustment. 22 Texture Paint ( optional)

Providing and applying at all floors, heights and locations interior based texture finish of Heritage/ Spectrum make from synthetic granules based materials and pre-mixed with Bonding agent made from pure acrylic co-polymer emulsion, Broad fungicide and applied with a trowels on to the surface, to be finished, in an average uniform coat of 1.5/2mm covering an area of about 0.5 sqm/kg of the mix. giving a uniform surface texture and applied by a trained texture applicators in a single coat. The finish shall be anti fading and non pigmented type with resistance to weathering. The base has to be smooth sand faced cement plaster with a base coat of water proof primer as per shade required after duly clearing off any unwanted scratches and undulations by sand papering or using a wire brush before actual application begin complete including cost of all



material, labour, machinery, T&P, curing, all leads, lifts and sampling, testing and water arrangements complete as per drawings, requirements, specification and as directed by the Architect / Employer.

23 PLASTIC EMULSION ( optional)

Providing & applying plastic emulsion paint on walls, columns & ceilings. The rate shall include scrapping, levelling & preparing the surface. Primer coat (Asian/ Nerolca/ Berger) + (minimum) 3 coats to get evenly spread quality finish (roller finish) of approved make, quality & finish shall be provided as directed by Bank / Architect. Finish with wall putti wherever necessary before plastic emulsion paint)

24 A.C.P. PANELLING / CLADDING

Providing and installation at all floors, heights, levels and locations of aluminium composite panel cladding over aluminium tube frame structure including fixing of sheets and filling of joints with structural silicon to acquire a smooth ripple free finish without any undulations. The composite panel sheet shall be a double layer aluminum panel consisting of a anti-toxic polythene layer core compressed between the aluminium layers. One side of the panel shall be a fluorocarbon paint finish in silver colour (as approved) with resistance to fading on exposure in exterior conditions and with a protective film on top to be removed after total completion of cladding. The sheet shall be 3mm thk. of total flatness with no distortion or deflection. The sheets shall be corrosion resistant and not be affected by varying temperature variations and should resist thermal expansion.

The sheets shall be fixed over aluminum framing system of tubing of size 1” x 1.5” evenly spaced at maximum 2’c/c to provide complete support to the sheets. The sheets shall be fixed to the framing system with double sided tape and duly anchored with maximum no. of screws All groves and finished edges on completion shall be finished and lipped with a uniform band of structural silicon on all sides. The cost shall include providing and installation of the sheets including all cutting, handling , fixing, like framework, screws, rawl plugs, silicon, double sided tape, to hand over the work in 100% finished condition complete as per drawings, requirements, specifications & as directed by the Architect / Employer. The tendered rate to account for all types of material, labour, machinery, T&P, curing, with all leads, lifts and sampling, testing and water arrangements complete.

25 STRUCTURAL GLAZZING IN FRONT

Providing and fixing curtain wall structure at all floors, heights, levels and locations made out 1.6 mm thick MS pipe of size 50x50mm with electrically welded, joint mitered and grinded finished. The frame has to be fixed in position with 15 x 3 mm lugs and 10 cm long, anchor bolt embedded in concrete 1:3:6 blocks as required. The frame fixed shall be first finished with zinc oxide primer and later with 2 or more coat of grey enamel paint. The glazing shall be fixed outside in panel size as per detail drawings flushed to each other to achieve smooth surface without undulation and sharp edges.

The plate glass used shall 8 mm thick reflective of approved make. The frame with tubular section shall of minimum grid size 600x900 mm and the glass should be jointed to the frame with silicon sealant of colour to match the shade of glass of approved make and quality with all necessary accessories like spacers, holder etc. The whole system after installation shall be completely



weatherproof and sealed against air and water complete as per specifications and detail drawings.

26 FLOORING / SKIRTING WOODEN FLOORING

Wooden laminate flooring at all heights conforming to the norms of European Standard Pr EN-13329 shall be minimum 10mm thick consisting of a high density fibre board (HDF) core with a design layer on top protected by a highwear and scratch resistant overlay, and a melamine backing at the bottom with the quality of Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL). Laminate flooring must conform to IP value class AC4 of the abrasion test according to pr EN-13329, minimum class IC2 of the impact test according to pr EN-13329 and scratch resistance > 6.00 Newton. And installed over a high moisture resistant polyethylene sheet and cross linked polymer based intermediate overlay and using D3 grade PVAc glue and installed by a trained applicator Accessories - Skirting - Minimum 100mm high of the same colour/matching.

Profiles - Door edges must be covered with galvanised aluminium profiles with similar design for higher strength and long life. The flooring must include all accessories including a profile required for its base legs proper alignment, with levels of surrounding areas tile floors completed in all respect with material, labour required for the complete item with all leads, lifts and delifts for materials as per approved specifications and drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-charges including sampling, testing etc. complete. (for AGM, & Conference hall)

27 PANTRY PLATFORM IN JET BLACK (WITH SINK & COCK)

Providing and laying platform of 2’-0” width (clear) and at 2’-8” height (top) above FFL of approved 20 mm thick granite with half round nosing including moudling chamfering wherever necessary edges. It shall be supported over new low height cabinet to be provided as part of this job. But including jointing with silicon sealary. The application of ceramic tile dado of 12"x12" tile upto 2' above counter over the partition wall with adhesive shall from a part of this item & shall be measured along the length of the counter. Rate shall be inclusive of making cutouts and polishing the edges for 18"x18" stainless steel Nirali sink without drain board (medium) or equivalent make). A flexible pipe from sink to the nahni trap shall be provided. Rate shall also include one jaguar continental C P SWAN NECK TAP with swinging casted spout (no. 347) complete as per attached drawing. Platform shall be supported on 50mmx50mm angle irons of required quantity as per length duly painted.

Rate shall include polishing of stone/ grounting of tiles & internal finishing of cabinet including all necessary kich / Goderj / Hafele fittings like 4" long stainless steel hinges, locks, tower bolts, 100 mm stainless steel brush finished handle etc. polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect.

28 SHUTTERS BELOW GRANITE COUNTERS

Providing and fixing 19mm thk. BWR ply shutters with ply frame, skirting gap as shown in the drawing shall be maintained. Division of shutters shall be made equally according to the length of the counter.



Shutters shall be 4" long SS hinged to the framework and finished with 1.0mm thk. Laminate (suede finish) of approved shade from outside, applied with approved oil paint from the inside and edges of shutters with teak wood lipping. Rate shall be inclusive of all necessary approved fittings like hinges, ball catch, handle, and any necessary hardware items. polish of approved shade to entire satisfaction of Architect.



SECTION –XII

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS SCOPE ALL WORK SHALL BE CARRIED OUT BY 'A' LICENSED CONTRACTOR ONLY - It will be the responsibility of contractor to get the load sanctioned from PSTCL/ PSEB

and connection energized. However the security for load and estimate charges if any etc. will be paid by the Bank production of receipts.

- It will also be the responsibility of contractor to get the installation inspected from Chief

Elect. Inspector of PSEB and get the installations passed if required. - In the scope of this work quantities on item Rate may be decreased / increased during the

execution as per the site requirement provided the quantities so, effected are not be beyond 100% of the item and the total financial effect of the particular work does not exceed beyond 10% mentioned therein.

1. The scope of internal & external electrification work in this contract for Bank of India, Zonal Office

Building at Ranjit Avenue, District Centre, Amritsar. 2. The internal electrification work of Bank building shall include all electrical installation work of

academic building common areas, stairs and corridors etc. It shall be from meter board onwards including meter boards/meter boxes cubicals, main switch (MCB) double earthing, sub mains from meter board to distribution boards, with earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCBs) and with MCBs, and all points such as light, fan, call bell, light plug and power plug points etc. All internal wiring shall be with PVC insulated stranded copper conductor cables of 1100 volts grades in concealed type PVC rigid conduits of heavy quality. There shall be one separate three phase four wire service connection.

3. The meter boards shall be located in the staircases or as shown on drawings. 4. The incoming electric service connections cables and electric meters are existing and to be

connected to the new wiring and are in the scope of this contract including the provisioning of following for laying service connection cable under floor from out side to inside the block as shown on drawing shall be deemed to be included in the scope:

5. Providing and fixing of light fittings, ceiling fans and exhaust fans are included in the scope of this

contract and fixing of connectors at all light points, fan hook and box and connector for all ceiling fan points, providing and fixing of call bell at bell points, ceiling rose for exhaust fan points, to be located near the exhaust fan location with control switch on the board near light point switch is also included in the scope of this contract.

6 Providing brick masonry chambers of size 300x300mm and 300mm depth, with suitable MS

cover and frame 13 kg weight are to be provided with earthing as per drawings & specifications.



7. REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS

The installation shall strictly comply with the following acts/rules/ specifications amended upto date.

a) Indian Electricity Act. b) Indian Electricity Rules. c) Code of Practice for Electrical wiring installation IS 732 of 1963 amended upto date. d) CPWD specifications 1944/95 for internal electrifications. e) The works shall also conform to any special requirement of Punjab Electricity Board. f) Wherever the specifications given herein call for a higher standard of material/workmanship, then

these shall take precedence over (a) to (e) above. 8. The work will be carried out by 'A' Class LICENSED ELECTRICAL contractors only. 9. In each stair lobby one light point for lobby/ landing at every floor level controlled by two way 5

Amp switches and one light point at every mid landing controlled by 2 way 5 amp switches shall be provided. The circuit for these light points shall be connected to the Distribution board of common distribution board.

10. The general layout of wiring points, switches and plug fittings and telephone points shall be as

shown on the drawings. The exact location of points, fittings and fixtures may be altered to suit site requirements and the contractor shall have no claim whatsoever for any extra on this account.

11. System/Details of wiring: a) Wiring shall be with PVC insulated, stranded copper conductor cables of 1100 volts grade ISI

marked in concealed type rigid heavy quality PVC conduits. b) Minimum size of PVC conduits for electric wiring shall be 20mm dia and for sub main from meter

board at ground floor to distribution board shall be 32mm dia. All conduits shall be ISI marked. All conduits in slabs and beams shall be placed before casting of concrete. No chase cutting in RCC shall be permitted after slab/beams have been cast in brick works. PVC conduits shall be provided and concealed after cutting suitable chase in wall and making good in cement mortar 1:6.

c) Number of points in each light circuit and power circuit shall be as shown on drawings and

distribution board details. d) Size of cable shall be as per the B.O.Q. enclosed.

12. METER BOARDS a) Meter Boards shall be provided as under and shall be located at existing places.

i) Two number meter board shall be connected which are existing there.



b) Cubicals in the meter boards as per (a) above shall have the following items: i) Two number MCCB 10 KA breaking capacity 70-100 amp

ii) Space for 3 phase 4 wire KWH meter two number provisioning and fixing meter is within the scope of this contract.

iii) 6 Nos rewireable type kit kat fuse grips and base (63 Amps) including neutral connector

and earthing terminals. c) The size and shape of the meter boards shall be as per drawings. This shall be of cubical type

which shall have separate hinged cover with viewing glass and locking arrangement, Meter board shall be fabricated out of 16 SWG MS sheet and painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over one coat of approved red oxide primer. Supply and fixing of KWH meter and its service cable is within the scope of this contract.

13. DISTRIBUTION BOARD a) Building shall have required no. of distribution board, which shall be located as directed by

Architect and as shown on the drawing. b) Distribution boards for building shall be TPN ways as required with loose wire chamber. Each DB

shall be with one number 63/40 Amps. Four pole earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) 30 sensitivity, as incomer single pole MCB’s of suitable capacity as per BOQ outgoing circuits.

c) Distribution board boxes shall be of same make as of MCBs and shall be fabricated out of 16

gauge MS sheet and of standard size with loose wire chamber as manufactured by the makers and procured from MCB manufacturers only.

14. EARTHING a) Separate double earthing shall be provided for the meter boards. This shall comprise of two Nos

earth pits of required size with GI pipe earth electrode covered alround (including top and bottom of earth electrode with mixtures of salt and coke in 6" thick layer. Top edge of vertical earth electrode at 8'-0" below the ground level then filled with good earth free from stone and brick bat etc. At ground level brick chamber manhole 1'x1'x1' deep with C.I. frame and C.I. hinged cover 13 kgs weight shall be provided. Earthing lead from each earth electrode to respective meter board, shall be 25x 5mm G.I. strips laid in trenches 300mm below ground level and through RCC pipe being laid for services connection cable under the floor as specified earlier in para 4 (b) above as per BOQ

b) Earthing from meter board to distribution board: This shall be done with two numbers 12 SWG

bare copper wires alongwith sub mains cable through concealed PVC conduits. c) Earthing for all light points, convenience outlets/power plug points: This shall be 14 SWG bare

copper wire alongwith wiring cables through PVC conduits.



d) The earthing system shall conform to IS-3043 and IS-732. 15. APPROVAL OF LAYOUT AT SITE

Contractor shall mark the location of all switch boards, points and layout of conduits on walls at site and take approval of Architect before commencement of cutting of chase and laying conduit/MS galvanised boxes. This shall be recorded and dated by contractor and Architect.

16 GENERAL a) Power Plug 32 amps points shall be wired one per circuit. b) Ceiling fan points will be completed with supply and fixing of fan hook with box and covered with

3mm thick hylem sheet at bottom duly screwed in the slab as per approved sample and earth wire connections to the fan hook.

c) Call bell point shall include provisioning and fixing of chime type bell of approved make. d) Meter boxes shall be painted and numbered as required and as directed. e) Outlet boxes will be G.I. boxes. f) Third terminal of all three pin ceiling rose light/power plugs shall be connected to earth wire and

further to earth dolly. 17. MIRROR OPTICAL LUMINARIES The Luminaries, Mirror assembly comprises scientifically designed high purity aluminium

reflector for high optical performance. Housing fabricated from MS sheet epoxy powder coated and prewired with vacuum pressure impregnated copper ballasts, push fit bipin rotor holder, pushfit starter seat- Power factor improvement capacitor and main connector suitable for:-

a. 2x36/49 watt b. 4x18/20 watt. 18. CEILING FANS

Ceiling fans will be fixed with the existing fan hooks where required & down rod of 15mm dia GI pipe where required will be paid extra.

Electrical Tests:

Entire electrical installation shall be tested by the contractor in the presence of and to the satisfaction of the Architect for insulation, earth continuity and other tests as specified under IE rules, PSEB specifications and as required by the local electricity department. Record of these tests duly signed and dated by the contractor and Architect shall be kept by the Employer.



19. EXHAUST FANS

Exhaust fan shall be erected at the places indicated by the Engineer-In-charge. For fixing an exhaust fan a circular hole shall be provided in the wall to suit the size of the frame, which shall be fixed by means of rag bolts embedded in the wall. The hole shall be neatly plastered to the original finish of the wall. The exhaust fan shall be connected to the exhaust fan point.

20. CABIN FAN

a. Cabin fans including their erection shall conform to relevant Indian Standards. b. All cabin fans shall be wired to ceiling rose or connector. c. All cabin fans shall be fixed with required size shape of nut bolts and FI clamps. 21. COMPLETION DRAWINGS

At the completion of the work and before issuance of certificate of virtual completion, the contractor shall submit to the Engineer-Incharge layout drawings drawn at approved scale indicating the complete wiring system” As Installed“. These drawings shall in particular give the following information:

a. Run and size of conduit, inspection, junction and pull boxes. b. Number and size of conductors in each circuit. c. Location and rating of sockets and switches controlling the light and power points. d. Location and details of distribution boards, mains, switches, switchgears and other particulars. e. A complete wiring direction as installed and completion drawing showing all connections in the

complete electrical system. f. Location of fire alarm outlets, junction boxes of fire alarm system. g. Layout and particulars of all MV cables. h. General arrangement or location drawings for fire alarm detectors and equipments complete with

dimensions and clearances. i. Bar chart indicating general progress for supply, installation, testing, commissioning and handing

over. j. Any other drawing or data that may be necessary for the job. 22. Warranty The contractor shall furnish the warranty of the equipment for minimum period of 24 months from

the date of taking over. The contractor shall furnish written warranty against material and workmanship & shall hold himself fully responsible for reinstallation or replacement free of cost.

a) Any defective material or equipment supplied by the contractor. b) Quality and strength of the material used and satisfactory operation of the material. c) The contractor shall correct at all his own expenses during the defects liability period. The

contactor shall assume all responsibilities for direct damage causing personal injury



23. The following specification will apply under all circumstances to the equipment to be installed

against this contract and it is to be ensured that the contractor shall obtain for himself at his on own expenses and on his own responsibility the information which may be necessary for the purposes of entering into a contract keeping in view of the purposes of entering into a contract keeping in view of the specifications detailed here under, drawings and design of the electrical installation and inspection of site etc.

Test certificate from individual manufacturers of all cables, wires, fittings etc. shall be furnished

by the contractor and responsibility of getting the approval from the Architect shall lie with the contractor.

23.1. In general the contractor shall supply, store, erect test and commission all the equipment

required for electrical installation. The contractor shall furnish all the materials, labour, tools and equipment for the electrical work, as shown in the accompanying drawings and in the bill of quantities and specifications hereinafter described.

The electrical installation shall comply with the requirements of Indian Electrical Supply Act and

Rules make there under and also with any other instructions issued by the Architect from time to time as applicable.

The electrical installation work shall be carried out only by authorized and qualified persons

competent to undertake such work. 23.2. Contractor The contractor shall be employ qualified Electrical Engineer possessing of a valid electrical

license in the State, & shall have valid permits for the execution of electrical wring as covered under the electrical rules & regulation cover in the state electricity board and the Indian electricity Code.

23.3. Definitions The following abbreviations used in the bill of quantities specifications and drawings represent.

23.4 Regulation & Standards The installation shall confirm generally to Indian Standard code of practice for electrical wiring

installation IS 732. It shall also be in conformity with the Current Indian Electricity Rules and Regulations and requirements of the local electric supply authority in so far as these become applicable to the installation. When ever this specification calls for a higher standard of materials and / or workmanship then those required by any of the above regulations, this specification shall take precedence over the said regulations and standards.

In general, the materials, equipment and workmanship not covered by the above shall/conform to

ISI marking or materials/ equipment is not necessary unless otherwise specifically called for. 23.5 Inspection & approval of the work by Local Authority

On completion of this work, the contractor shall obtain and deliver to the Architect the certificates of inspection and approval by the Electrical Inspector of Local Administration. The Architect shall have access to the manufacturers premises for inspection of any items of the tender for which contractor has to make arrangement with different manufacturers 15 days notice to be given to the Architect for the same.

23.6 Drawings & Quantities

The drawings, specifications and bills of quantities (which may be increased or decreased during the execution as order by Bank of India) shall be considered as part of this contract and any work or materials shown on the drawing and not called for in the specifications or vice versa, shall be executed as if specifically called for in both. The contract drawings indicate the point of termination of conduit runs and broadly suggest the routes to be followed. The work shall be installed as indicated on the drawings, however, any minor changes if found essential to co-ordinate installation of this work with other trades shall be made without any additional cost to the owners/employers. The data given herein and on the drawing is as could be secured but its complete accuracy is not guaranteed. The drawings and specifications are for the assistance and



guidance of the contractor. The exact location, distance and levels, etc. will be governed by the space conditions. The contractor shall examine all architectural, structural plumbing and sanitary. He shall not be entitled to any extras for on missions or defects in electrical drawings or when they conflict with other work.

23.7 Completion Drawings

On completion of Electrical installation a certificate shall be furnished by the contractor duly

countersigned by a licenced supervisor, under whose direct supervision the installation was carried out. The certificate shall be in the prescribed form as required by the Local Electric Supply authorities. The contractor shall be responsible for getting the Electrical Installation inspected & approved by the Local Authorities concerned and from Chief Electrical Inspector, Pb.

Any other clearance such as meter connection if necessary from any other Govt. bodies shall be

got by the contractor from the concerned authorities free of cost. 23.8 Foreman/Supervisor

The contractor shall employ a competent ‘A’ class licensed qualified full time electrical foreman/ supervisor to direct the work of electrical installation in accordance with the drawings and specifications. The foreman/supervisor shall be available at al times on the site to receive instructions from the Architect/ Consultant in the day to day activities throughout the duration of the contract. The foreman/ supervisor shall correlate the progress of the work in conjunction with all the relevant requirements of the supply authority, the skilled worker employed for the work should have requisite qualification and should possess competency certificate from the electrical inspector of Local Administration.

23.9 Application for Electric Supply/Liaison

The contractor shall be responsible for filing and follow up of application for electric supply to the project. The contractor shall carry out all the liaison work required for obtaining electric supply commencing from filing of application. This liaison shall be deemed to be a part of this contract and no separate payment will be made on this account.

23.10 Samples

Sample of all materials that the contractor intends to use shall be displayed and submitted to the architects for approval. After the samples are approved the sample based shall be exhibited in the office at the site of works.

24. TESTING AND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION 24.1 Testing and installation shall be as per IS-1732-1963.

a) The insulation resistance shall be measured by applying between earth and the whole system of conductors or any section thereof with all fuses in places and all switches closed and except in earthed concentric wiring all lamps in position or both poles of the installations otherwise electrically connected together, where a direct current pressure of



not less than twice the working pressure provided that it need not exceed 500 volts for medium voltage circuits. Where the supply is derived from the three wires (AC & DC) or a poly phase system, the neutral pole of which is connected to earth direct or through added resistance, the working pressure shall be deemed to be that which is maintained between the outer or phase conductor and the neutral.

b) The insulation resistance measured as above shall not be less than 50 divided by the

number of points on the circuits that the whole installation shall be required to have an insulation resistance greater than one meg ohm.

c) Control rheostat heating and power appliances and electric signs may, if required, be

disconnected from the circuit during the test, but in event the insulation resistance between the case of frame work and all live parts of each rheostats appliance and sign shall not be less than hat specified in the relevant Indian Standard Specification or where there is no such specification shall not be less than half a meg ohm.

d) The insulation resistance shall also be measured between all conductors connected to

one pole or phase conductor of the supply and all the conductors connected to the middle wire or the neutral or to the other pole or phase conductors of the supply and its value shall not be less than specified in sub clause (b).

e) On completion of an electric installations (or an extension to an installation) a certificate

shall be furnished by the contractor counter signed by the qualified supervisor under whose direct supervision the installation was carried out. The certificate shall be in prescribed form as required by the local electric supply authorities. One such recommended form is given in Appendix.

24.2 Testing of Earth Continuity Path

The earth continuity conductor including metal conduits and metallic envelopes of in the cases shall be tested for electric continuity and the electrical resistance of the same alongwith the earthing lead but excluding any added resistance or leakage circuit breaker measured from the connection with the earth electrodes to any point in the earth continuity conductor in the completed installation shall not exceed one meg ohm.

24.3 Testing of Polarity of non-linked Single Pole Switches

a) In a two wire installation a test shall be made to verify that all non linked single pole switches have been fitted in the same conductor throughout and such conductor shall be labelled or marked for connection to an outer on phase conductor or to the non earthed conductor of the supply.

b) In a three wire or four wire installation a rest shall be made to verify that every non linked

single switch is fitted in a conductor which is labelled, marked for connection to one of the outer conductor of the supply.



25. EARTHING FOR ELECTRICAL WORK

All non-current metal parts of the electrical installation shall be earthed as per IS:3043. The materials to be used is described in the BOQ.

25.1 Earthing Conductors

All earthing conductors shall be of bare solid copper/ GI conductor as prescribed in bill of quantities and shall be protected against mechanical damage and corrosion. The connection of earth continuity conductors to earth bus and earth electrodes shall be strong and shall easily accessible. The earth strip shall be rigidly fixed to the walls. Conduits and cable by using suitable clamps made of non ferrous metals compatible with the earthing conductor, the following earthing conductors are required to be used for various sections of the installations.

a) All fixture lighting, fan and switch enclosures, lighting conduits shall be earthed with bare

solid copper conductor of 16 SWG.

b) Third pin power socket outlets upto 20A shall be earthed with bare solid copper conductor of 14 SWG.

All the sub mains and sub circuits shall be provided with earth continuity conductors as specified and connected to main earth bus. Earthing conductors for equipment shall be run from the exposed metal surface of equipment and connected to a suitable point on the sub main or main isolator earthing bus. All switch boards, distribution boards and isolators, shall be connected through double earthing, double earthing, conductor to the earth bus. Earthing conductors shall terminate at the equipment using suitable lugs, bolts, washers and nuts.

i) All the single phase switch and DB's above 30 amp rating shall be earthed with one run

of 10 SWG bare copper earth wire and above 30 A upto 63 amp with one run of 8 SWG bare copper earth wire as per BOQ.

ii) All the 3 phase switch / DBs upto 30 A rating shall be earthed with 2 runs of 10 SWG

copper wire and above 30 A upto 63 amp with 2 runs of 8 SWG copper wires or as per BOQ.

iii) The computer points shall 1/18 PVC insulated copper wire or as mentioned in BOQ. All conduits, cables armouring etc. shall be connected to the earth all along their run by earthing conductors of suitable cross sectional area. Water pipes, steel structural elements, cable trays/racks lighting conductors shall not be used as a mean of earthing an installation. The electrical resistance of earthing conductors shall be low enough to permit the passage of fault current necessary to operate a fuse/protective device a circuit breaker & shall not exceed 2 ohms.

All single phase wiring shall have one run of copper earth wire and three phase wiring shall be provided with two run of copper earth wires.



25.2 Earthing Electrode

Earthing electrodes shall be designed as per the requirement of IS:3943. The number and size of earth electrodes shall be calculated so that under fault conditions no electrode is loaded above its maximum permissible current density. The resistance of earth electrodes shall be as low as possible, the maximum allowable value being one ohm. Earthing electrodes of plate type be adopted GI earth electrode shall be used to arrest the lighting.

25.3 Plate Electrodes

Plates electrodes shall be made of copper plates of 3.15mm thick and 60x60 cm size. The plates shall be buried vertically in ground at depth of not less than 2 mtr to top of the plates, the plates being encased in charcoal to a thickness of 15 cm all around. It is preferable to bury the electrodes to a depth where sub soil water is present. Earth leads to the electrodes shall be laid in a GI pipe and connected to the plates electrode with brass bolts, nuts and washers, GI pipe and connected to the plates electrode with brass bolts, nuts and washers, GI pipe of not less than 19 mm dia shall be placed vertically over the plates and terminated in funnel. The funnel shall be enclosed in masonary chamber of 30x30 cm dimensions. The chamber shall be provided with CI frame and CI cover. The earth station shall also be provided with permanent identification label/tag.

25.4 Precautions

Earthing system shall be mechanically robust and the joints shall be capable to retaining low resistance even after passage of fault currents.

Joints shall be solders, tinned and double riveted in case of copper and joints shall be filled and double riveted in case of GI. All the joints shall be mechanically electrically continues and effective. Joints shall be protected against corrosion.

25.5 Testing

On the completion of the entire installation, the following tests shall be conducted. a) Earth resistance of electrodes. 26. LT CABLES

LT cables shall be of copper/aluminium conductor PVC insulated PVC sheathed steel taps/ wire armoured construction. Cables supplied in smaller lengths or otherwise shall bear manufacturers identification mark at regular intervals.

27. LIGHTING FIXTURES(Philips/Wipro/Thorn/Crompton) S & I of lighting fixtures as per the details given below including necessary hardware such as

clamps,nuts, bolts, nails, screws and suspension chains as required for fixing the fixtures in position as directed by architect / Consultant.
