Is your eldest child aged between 5 and 10 years old? Do you have difficulty understanding new or difficult information,
learning new skills, coping independently with everyday activities – for example household tasks, interacting with other people or managing money? or Do you often feel tense, anxious, nervous or overwhelmed? If you answered yes to the above questions, then the Securing Futures project could help you. Securing Futures is a Big Lottery funded project which aims to
provide early intervention to support families in Carmarthenshire.
Carmarthenshire Youth and Children’s Association (CYCA) is a
registered children’s charity (number 512720) who have been
offering high quality informal educational and recreational services
to Carmarthenshire’s children, young people and their families for
over 30 years.
We will listen to you, offer guidance and advice and if it is appropriate, a plan will be created to meet your needs. This could include: Mentoring - A mentor is someone who can listen and offer advice/support. They can organise activities for children and other family members. Identify appropriate services that are available in your area and
help you access these services. Support you to develop self help strategies. Advise with tenancy support, housing advice, benefits and information. Support access to training, education, volunteering opportunities
and work.
And much more.
If you feel you could benefit from support then contact the team on
01554 757599, or email [email protected]

As well as face to face support, the project will also feature online
support through the development of a Virtual Interactive Gateway.
The gateway will allow more flexibility in the way you can access
support and will feature a host of digital tools offering information
and advice on a variety of issues and conditions. The gateway will
be up and running towards the end of 2012 and support and training
to access and use this service will be given.
