Nearby Broken River, Craigieburn, Cheeseman, Porters and Temple Basin are the towns of Castle Hill, Springfield and Arthur’s Pass and if you are driving from Christchurch you will pass through Darfield.

Selwyn’s six ski areas are close to Christchurch
International Airport - an easy 1 to 2 hours drive away. They
offer superb winter skiing and riding across six unique ski
areas with terrain for all abilities. There is also a great mix
of on-mountain aprés style accommodation, rural villages,
small townships and plenty to see and do off-mountain. The
New Zealand ski season usually operates late June to early
October depending on snow conditions.
