7.00am Players sign in at the clubhouse. Staff will take players’ clubs. “One Mulligan” per player can be purchased at sign-in.

7.00am–8.15am Breakfast (beside 10th tee)

7.30am–7.50am PGA Teaching Professional John Serhan demonstrates the basics of the full swing (on the driving range)

8.10am Welcome to all competitors and event rundown

8.30am Shotgun start

8.30am–1.00pm Free drinks and snacks available on the course

1.00pm Players finish and freshen up

1.30pm Lunch and presentation of prizes

How it works• Sponsors register using the form attached, or online at www.shineforkids.org.au/charitygolfday

• Once registered as sponsor you are eligible to “bid” to play with Craig Parry at the SHINE for Kids Charity Golf Day.

• All sponsorship bids must be emailed to Michael Stephens at [email protected]

• All bidders to play with Craig Parry will be informed via email on a daily basis (i.e. the latest bid and by whom).

• Bidding closes at 5.00pm, Monday 17th September.

• The winner will be announced Tuesday 18th September.

• If your team wins the bid for Craig Parry one of the 4 team members must drop out.

Why it’s important to help SHINE for KidsSHINE for Kids is a not-for-profit organisation assisting children of prisoners and their families to overcome the multitude of hurdles that are presented to them when a parent goes to prison. Education, finances, social stigma and simply holding the family together can suddenly seem like impossible challenges.

This time in a child’s life can dramatically affect their entire future. Aside from the personal cost, there is an impact on society – children of prisoners are statistically 5 times more likely to become offenders themselves. So it’s really in everyone’s interests to ensure that these kids and their families receive all the support and guidance they need to get through a very difficult time.

SHINE for Kids is the only organisation in Australia specifically set up to provide this. We operate a comprehensive range of services in prisons and communities throughout NSW and Victoria and in the ACT. In 2012 we’ve celebrated 30 years of operation.

John Serhan

Whether instructing Asian Tour players or helping members at St Michael’s Golf Club in eastern Sydney, John Serhan is regarded as a player’s coach. As a player, Serhan holds his own, having secured numerous top-10 finishes over the past decade on the secondary Australasian tours.

In 2007 Serhan scored the double honour of coaching the 2007 PGA rookie of the year Neven Basic and the NSW PGA Player of the Year Anthony Summers, both of whom went onto the Asian Tour. Since then Serhan has forged a reputation with a number of emerging professionals on the Australasian Tour and is one of Australia’s most sought-after coaches.
