Fabric Requirements: 1/4 yard black 1/4 yard pink 1/4 yard turquoise 1/4 yard white *The fabric requirements are high estimates. There will be left over fabric.

Other Supplies: Rotary cutter, add-a-quarter ruler and mat Foundation Paper ***This pattern does assume you know how to paper piece. I have not included any general directions or instructions on paper piecing. Cutting Directions: Black: A3 & C3 ~ cut {8} 3” x 5.25” B1 & D1 ~ cut {8} 3” x 4” E1 ~ cut {4} 2” x 2” Pink: A1 & C1 ~ cut {8} 1.5” x 3” A4 & C4 ~ cut {8} 2” x 6.5” B2 & D2 ~ cut {8} 2” x 5” Turquoise: A2 & C2 ~ cut {8} 1.5” x 3.5” A6 & C6 ~ cut {8} 2” x 5.5” White: A5 & C5 ~ cut {8} 1.5” x 6.5” B3 & D3 ~ cut {8} 2” x 5.5” I tend to cut my pieces a little larger than necessary. You may use smaller pieces. I prefer having a little extra fabric just to be safe. ***Please note: When you print the paper piece templates, the long side of B1 should measure 3.5” {this includes the seam allowances}. Please double check the measurement before you start sewing. You may need to adjust your printer settings to reach this measurement.

This color key is labeled to match the paper piecing templates that I’ve included in the pattern. It’s intended to help you stay organized. Print 4 copies of the foundation paper piecing templates. Sew together the pieces in section A. Repeat for sections B, C and D. Then sew section A to section B and sew section C to section D. Sew AB to CD and then add piece E1 to the unit. Make 4 of these units then sew the 4 units together into a 12.5” {unfinished} block.

This block creates an awesome secondary pattern when it’s repeated in a quilt. The below picture shows the secondary pattern created by joining four 12” blocks.

Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions regarding this pattern.
