Professional Experience
Chris is a Principal in our Silicon Valley office transaction services M&A team and he is
one of the Leaders of the Firm’s China Services Group specializing in Private Equity
and TMT deals. Over the past 22 years, Chris has worked on a variety of business and
financial advisory projects with an emphasis on China inbound investment and TMT,
including telecoms, software and internet deals. Chris has advised, and in most cases
led, hundreds of M&A diligence transactions of all sizes.
In 1994 Chris was among one of the first Big Four consultants to relocate to China
where he assisted various multinational companies in developing their China
investment strategy. Chris returned to Beijing in 2005 to focus on PE and U.S. inbound
investment and in 2011 Chris came back to the Silicon Valley.
Chris has deep experience in various aspects of doing business and M&A in China.
Chris leads our annual China/HK PE Confidence Survey and he is very close to the PE
and VC community in China and in the Bay Area. Chris is one of our key China
consultants and he is sought out by many of our clients doing business in China.

Yvonne Go
Director Orient Bancorporation
Yvonne Go began her career at Bank of the Orient in 1985 in the Human
Resources Department. Over the past 27 years, she has had oversight
responsibilities for Preferred Banking, marketing, business development, human
resources, facilities operations, community development and corporate
philanthropy. In addition, she also served on the Bank’s Executive Committee,
Director and Management Loan Committee, and Asset and Liability Committee.
In her current role, Yvonne serves as Director at Orient Bancorporation, where
she steers corporate planning and growth strategies for Bank of the Orient and
its subsidiaries.
An active member of the community, she serves as the Treasurer and Board
Director for the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce. She is
also a Regent at Saint Ignatius College Preparatory, where she is a member of
the Development Committee.
Yvonne is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned her bachelor’s
degree in Psychology.
Kay Ikawa Managing Director, Asia Pacific, United
Kay Ikawa is Managing Director of Asia Pacific for United Airlines. She is responsible for the
performance of United’s Pacific routes as she oversees the sales and marketing of the 25 transpacific
routes from the Americas Region. Ikawa joined United’s subsidiary, Continental Airlines in 1998 to start
up their new Asia Pacific Department to launch their first flights to Tokyo and later to Hong Kong and
mainland China.
As a 28-year veteran of the industry, Ikawa has extensive experience in airline sales and marketing,
having held sales leadership roles for another major US airline in the Midwest, West Regions, and later
concentrating in the Asia Pacific area, having launched and managed over 15 transpacific routes.
Ikawa is a member of the Asia Society of Texas, Japan Society of New York, the Hong Kong Association,
and the National Committee on US China Relations. She also serves on the Board of the Japan
Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Japan, Ikawa was educated in both Japan and the US with a BA in Psychology.

PETER MASTROMONACO
BIO
Mr. Peter Mastromonaco is the managing partner of Mastromonaco and Associates, LLP a San
Francisco based law firm specializing in large, complex commercial real estate matters. The
firm’s clientele consists of major, domestic and international financial institutions including banks
and insurance companies. Prior to the formation of the firm in 2005, Mr. Mastromonaco was a
partner with Stein and Lubin, LLP and Steefel, Levitt and Weiss, P.C.
Mr. Mastromonaco attended Golden Gate University’s night law program while working full-time
as a credit analyst at Lloyds Bank Plc., and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1988. Mr.
Mastromonaco was a member of the law review and the recipient of the American
Jurisprudence Award. Mr. Mastromonaco also holds a Master’s degree from the University of
Denver Graduate School of International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree from Fairfield
University.
Mr. Mastromonaco has been active in community activities, including the Boy Scout of America,
Little League and the San Francisco Food Bank. Mr. Mastromonaco is married and lives with
his wife, Ellis, in San Francisco. They have two college age children. Mr. Mastromonaco’s
interests include jazz, baseball, and travel.
Peter R Nelson

Peter Nelson is relationship manager in the Commercial Real Estate
group of HSBC. Peter works with domestic and international clients
seeking acquisition, term and construction financing throughout the US.
Peter joined HSBC in 2004 and has over 30 years of financial services
industry experience. From his arrival in California in 1982, Peter
principally worked in the Bay Area real estate investment offices of
several major life insurance companies. Before that he had various roles
in land use planning and transportation planning in the Washington,
D.C. area.
He serves on the Architectural and Design Review Committee for the
Town of Ross, CA. He graduated from George Washington University
and received his Master of City Planning degree from Harvard
University Graduate School of Design.
Paul T. Rubens

Paul T. Rubens, is vice-president and investment strategist with Franklin
Templeton's Local Asset Management group. He is responsible for supporting the
investment functions of the locally managed and distributed products globally.
Rubens has over 20 years of investment management experience and has lived and
worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei and Singapore.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Rubens was a principal at Blackhorse
Asset Management Pte Ltd., a Singapore-based Asian equity specialist. Prior to
that, he served as Managing Director, Asia, for Banc One Investment Advisors in
Tokyo and was also CEO of Alliance Capital's investment trust joint-venture in
Taiwan, Far Eastern Alliance Asset Management.
Mr. Rubens holds a B.A. in English/Writing from Santa Clara University and an
M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He speaks Japanese and is
conversant in Mandarin Chinese. He is a native of San Francisco.

Derek Sasano

KSSF Enterprises Limited (“KSSF”)
Derek Sasano is responsible for the finance and administration of KSSF, which owns the
W San Francisco, a 404-room hotel located on the corner of 3rd
and Howard Streets in the
SOMA district. He is also responsible for oversight of the finance and administration for
KSG Enterprises, Ltd. (“KSG”), owner of the Doubletree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Hotel
in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He reports to Peter Wong, president of KSSF and Keck Seng Group, N.A.
He has been employed under the Keck Seng Group since December 2000 when KSG
purchased the Doubletree Alana Waikiki and has since transferred to San Francisco in
December 2009 after KSSF’s purchase of the W San Francisco. Born and raised in
Hawaii, he has almost 40 years in the hospitality industry, including accounting positions
at Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel prior to joining KSG in
2000.
He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Association of Northern California.
He attended the University of Hawaii with an A.S. degree in accounting and received
certification in Hospitality Financial Management from the Cornell University
Professional Development Program.
Nancy Wong
Senior Vice President, Asian Segment Manager, Diverse Segments
Wells Fargo & Company
Nancy Wong joined Wells Fargo in 2008 as the Asian Segment Manager for Diverse Segments, having previously worked for monoline credit card companies (Providian Financial, NextCard, Inc.) and Asian niche bank United Commercial Bank.
Wong is responsible for planning and implementing business strategies and marketing programs for the Asian market, with a focus in building partnership across WF’s lines of business and deploying a One Wells Fargo team approach to serve all the financial needs of the Asian community.
Wong started her career at Wells Fargo Credit Card Department with responsibilities in monthly portfolio review and annual loss forecasting from 1991 - 1996. Wong managed data mining, list generation at Providian Financial, and project managed software release of on-line credit card decisioning application at NextCard, Inc. Prior to re-joining Wells Fargo in 2008, Wong has product management and development responsibilities focusing on United Commercial Bank’s deposit products from 2003 – 2008.
Wong was born in Hong Kong, and is fluent in Chinese. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Finance from California State University, Hayward, and a Master’s in business administration from Santa Clara University.
