National Science Foundation - Timeline

1 On October 5, the Soviet Union orbits Sputnik 1, the first ever man-made

satellite. The successful rocket launch forces a national self-

appraisal that questions American education, scientific, technical and

industrial strength. For 1958, Congress increases the NSF

appropriation to $40 million. By 1968, the NSF budget will stand at

nearly $500 million.https://store.theartofservice.com/the-self-appraisal-toolkit.html

1 This position is supported by Albert Bandura's claim that optimistic self-appraisals of capability, that are not

unduly disparate from what is possible, can be advantageous,

whereas veridical judgements can be self-limiting

Public sector ethics - Cooper's decision-making model

1 ## Anticipatory Self-Appraisal: Simply put, this analysis of

alternatives requires an internal reflection of whether an

administrator feels that an alternative fits within what he or she perceives to be their own personality. This is an examination of whether an alternative will meet our need to feel

satisfied with the decision.https://store.theartofservice.com/the-self-appraisal-toolkit.html

Frank Moorhouse - Opinions of his work

1 Whether we accept her word or warm to her self-appraisal is unimportant

because we have been implicated in her singularity...It is a rich and

enriching novel, out of its time but vital to it, whose writing is an act of

Käthe Kollwitz - Later life and World War II

1 Kollwitz made a total of 275 prints, in etching, woodcut and lithography.

Virtually the only portraits she made during her life were images of

herself, of which there are at least fifty. These self-portraits constitute a lifelong honest self-appraisal; they

are psychological milestones.Zigrosser, page XXII,
