!  Groups of 2-3. No more, no less! !  Research the term self-esteem. Look up at least

4 different definitions and compare/contrast them.

!  Write down your own definition that everyone in the group agrees with, using the other definitions you found. It needs to be clear and understandable.

!  You will read your definition to the class. !  You will be using the computer for your

research.

Self-esteem refers to how you feel about yourself as a person and how much you value yourself. The way we feel about ourselves has a huge affect on the way we treat ourselves, others, and on the kinds of choices we make.

!  With a neighbor, make a list of reasons why a teenager might have low self-esteem and what things could be done to enhance self-esteem.

self-esteem and becoming involved with drugs, alcohol, or a potentially bad crowd at school? Do you think that a person with high self-esteem or low self-esteem would be more likely to do those things?
