How does your magazine represent particular social groups?
Cover line stories are written codes
that appeal to college student’s
life such as what’s going on
Fun in-house colours
that catch your eye
to represent
that students
My main image is a young student
to represent
the audience so they
know it is for their
Simple layout which isn’t too busy so it doesn’t look too
complicated or too much to represent
college life
I chose these
clothes as it is said to be

What aspects of your work are you pleased with and why?
What aspects of your work do you think could be improved and why?
I am pleased with my main image as it goes against conventions. We were asked to use a medium close up (above waste) photography for our front cover but I
thought this image worked better as it shows all of her clothes showing her style so you can see she represents the average student, also she is looking up at the
cover lines which I thought drew more attention to them.
I am pleased with the written
codes (cover line fonts) I
chose as it is a funky,
young font which
represents students,
also it is the type of
handwriting many
students have which
helps make it represent
them.
I am happy with my final chosen masthead as it is a silly, drawn one which will draw young students in more than a boring serious
plain masthead.
I am pleased with my colour scheme as it links in with
the masthead and is subtle and not
too bold.
A different font for the date as it is hard to read and doesn’t
stand out.
An issue number
added as I had forgot
about it and it is
essential for a magazine.
A clearer price label
as it is hidden
behind the masthead
and people may not be able to tell
Different colour cover lines as they are slightly hard to read and may make
people lose interest if they can’t read them from a distance.
More cover lines as it gives little
information and needs more to peak
the audiences interest.
