YOUR EBTH TEAM
We’re looking forward to getting to work on your sale! Within the next two business days, an EBTH Project
Manager (PM) will be in touch regarding next steps for organizing and packing the items in your home for
shipment to our EBTH Processing Facility. Processing your items remotely makes our process quick and efficient
by reducing the amount of time we need to spend in your home.
Your PM will be your dedicated estate sale expert and main point of contact throughout the sale, so please direct
any communication or questions to them. They will also oversee all staff working in your home.
Your PM will be in touch shortly about the following details:
Your availability and schedule during the process
A list of all contractors that will be in or around the property during the sale process
Contact information for your Realtor if the home is on the market
Any information or items necessary for access to the property if you will not be
present (i.e. keys, codes, garage door openers)

TIMELINE
Below is a general overview of the key milestones in the EBTH process. You will receive an email with the exact timeline
for your sale from your PM. You will also receive regular email updates so that you may track the progress of your sale.
ESTATE SALE SPECIALISTS ARRIVE: Your PM, expert EBTH catalogers and trained photographers will come
to your home to group, inventory, prep, photograph, and pack items for shipment. Photographs will be taken
of any large items that will not be transported to an EBTH Processing Facility. If there are pieces not fit for sale,
we can arrange for donation and trash removal.
THE SHIPPING CONTAINER ARRIVES: The best-in-class shipping container that will transport your items to
an EBTH processing facility will be delivered to a designated spot outside of your home. It will be locked and
monitored by our staff.
THE LOADING CREW ARRIVES: Professional movers will load all items that will be shipped to the EBTH
Processing Facility. Large furniture items will remain in your home for the duration of your sale.
YOUR ITEMS ARRIVE AT THE EBTH PROCESSING FACILITY: Our streamlined process allows your pieces to
be photographed, tagged, researched and authenticated as quickly and carefully as possible. If at any time an
item is deemed unlistable, or damaged in transit, the EBTH Processing Facility will notify you and provide an
itemized list for your records.
YOUR ITEMS ARE SORTED: Since our experienced team knows how to position your items on EBTH.com for
optimal results, this may mean splitting up your pieces into different EBTH sales, and go-live dates may vary.
Once this process is complete, you will receive an email from your PM with confirmed timing for the start and
end dates of your sale.
YOUR SALE GOES LIVE: Your items are live on EBTH.com for up to 7 days. Bidding starts at a minimum bid of
$1, which encourages engagement from a global audience. The more people engaged with your sale, the more
value you’ll see!
THE SALE ENDS: The final 24 hours typically account for 90% of sale revenue! All bids are final and we take
care of collecting payment.
YOUR ITEMS SHIP: The EBTH staff will manage all shipping from the EBTH Processing Facility. Once your sale
closes, your items will be ready to ship right away. Your PM will work with you to arrange for shipping or pickup
of any large items that remained in your home or at a local facility. Then, we’ll email you an itemized inventory
list of everything that sold, with final sale prices.
WE SEND YOU A CHECK: You will receive a check within 30 days of the sale’s close. If you have items in
separate sales, you will receive individual checks after each sale has ended.

How Long Will It Take?Generally, we operate on a 45 day timeline, however this can vary due to the scope of work in the home.
After assessing the items, your PM will give you an accurate time frame.
What Will Happen During the Sale Preparation?During sale preparation, our skilled team will be organizing items and carefully packing them for transportation to
local storage or an EBTH Processing Facility.

Junk Removal Experts: We receive a discounted rate from
our junk hauler partner, but please be aware that there can
be premium charges for items such as hazardous materials,
mattresses and tube televisions.
Non-Profit Organizations: We will do our best to honor the
seller’s choice of non-profit organizations for donations. Please
note that sometimes these organizations’ turnaround times pose
a challenge to our commitment to efficiently getting in and out of
a home and we will have to use another partner.
Professional Movers: In cases where a shortened timeline is
required for processing a sale (under 45 days) there may be
additional charges incurred for professional movers to remove
all contents from the home.
JSA Autograph Authentication: We rely on JSA for high
end items or commonly forged autographs. The cost for
authenticating each piece (regardless of the amount of
signatures) is $15. Some special items require mailing to
JSA for a full write-up and will cost more.
Gemology: We call on the expertise of a gemologist for all sales
that include fine jewelry. Collections in excess of 15 pieces will
incur additional costs of $15 per item.
Art Authentication Services: Our in-house specialist, Graydon
Sikes, takes the lead on art authentication.
Fashion Authentication Services: We occasionally work with a
third party to verify the authenticity of designer handbags, while
our in-house staff of fashion specialists inspect and verify the
authenticity and condition of other fashion items.
Who Will Be Coming to My Home?
EBTH STAFF MEMBERS:
Your Project Manager and Estate Sale Specialists: Organizers & Photographers
THIRD PARTY SERVICES:
When clearing out an estate, we often need the assistance of third party services to help with the removal of certain
items or authentication. In an effort to make the process as seamless as possible, EBTH is happy to coordinate the
third party services. Any fees associated will be deducted from the final sale net proceeds.
Potential third parties with whom EBTH may partner on your sale:

We take great care to organize and pack your
items for safe transportation to our processing
facilities. Please expect EBTH employees to be
in and out of your home throughout the entire
sale process.
For liability reasons, EBTH employees are not
permitted to facilitate the entry or exit of the
home for any contractors, family members or
others. If any other work must be done in the
home simultaneously to our process, please
confirm this with your PM. Ideally no contractors
will be performing work in the home at the
same time as EBTH crews. We also ask that you
make efforts to ensure the home remains free
of visitors and pets while we’re at work. For the
safety of our staff, we ask that the home is safe,
insured, and free of black mold.
At the beginning of the cataloging process,
please provide your PM with any special
instructions or information regarding pieces that
you believe to be of specific value or interest.
EBTH will attempt to keep all areas surrounding
the sale items as neat as possible, however,
please be aware that the space will not always
appear staging-ready.
To prevent delays or inaccurate listings,
please do not move items or EBTH tags during
the process.
Prior to the arrival of the EBTH crew, please
clearly mark all items which are NOT to be sold
(we recommend using a piece of blue painters
tape). Take time to remove items of a personal or
family nature if they are not to be sold (photos,
documents, medals, etc.). Our crew will do
their best to call out such items but cannot be
responsible if they are included in the sale. Also,
please mark any spaces you do not wish our
crew to access with a simple “Do not enter” sign.
Since our experienced and trained team knows
how to position your items on EBTH.com for
optimal results, please note that EBTH will retain
sole discretion of items included or excluded
from a grouping, as well as the appearance and
presentation of your sale on EBTH’s website. In
some cases, this may mean that items purchased
as a set will be split up.
After the sale closes, your PM will work with you
to schedule pickup of any items that remained in
the home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Can I bid on my own items? Our site does not allow sellers to bid on their own items. This is known as shill
bidding and is against the law.
Can I put a reserve on certain items? We do not allow reserves. We find that EBTH’s method of not setting
reserve prices on items allows more bidders to engage in the sale, therefore increasing the price of the
items you are selling.
What happens to items that don’t sell? Everything sells! That’s the beauty of starting each item at $1. In the
incredibly unlikely event that an item doesn’t sell, it won’t be returned to the seller but we will arrange for
donation or disposal.

you can sit back and enjoy your proceeds.

deposit option.
What address is the check being sent to?
Checks are sent to the payable address listed
on your seller invoice. If this address changes,
please be sure to update your address as soon

The invoice is emailed to the email address listed
on your account. You may also sign in to your
