Circle around a family of hippos before you stop on an island dune and enjoy a cold drink and a moment of repose as the sky lights with brilliant reds and oranges and the large scarlet sun dips into the river.

Guided Walking SafariThe Selous Game Reserve offers you a unique opportunity to venture back into the reserve on foot and make the most use of your twenty-four-hour park pass the morning after your Game Drive. With a park ranger as your guide you will tread the same paths as all of the wild things of the ancient continent, an intimate and thrilling look at the untamed bush and those that shape it.

African Village ExpeditionNot much has changed in our village of Mloka since the days of Livingstone, Selous and the great explorers of time past. Few places in East Africa are so remote. Our local guide will take you through the dust streets of the village meeting people outside of their mud and stick homes, visiting the local market, passing colorfully dressed women toting water on their heads and babies on their backs. Photography is welcomed.

Take time while you are guests to visit our English School. Baker & Sons has built and supports a school teaching English to the local villagers. This allows our Swahili speaking neighbours to pursue higher education or secure employment, even at our safari camp. Just a quick walk up from your lodge, towards the village, on the edge of our property sits the school.
