“Additional Requirements” and list BA 3623 or ECON 3165 as possible substitutes

for the required 3 c.h. in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science.

FACULTY OF BUSINESS:

The single proposed change from this Faculty affects BBA program information,

specifically, Transfers and Graduates of a Community College or an Equivalent

System to the BBA Degree, to better reflect relationships between the

Community Colleges and the Faculty of Business.

FACULTY OF SASE:

Engineering

Proposed changes include three new ENGG courses at the 1000 level; a

combination of numbering, description and prerequisite changes to four ME

courses; prerequisite changes to CHE 2501 and ME 1312. In addition, two 2000-

level ME courses and one ENGG courses to be removed from the Calendar and

one 2000-level ME course to be deleted. Finally, housekeeping changes to the BSc

in Engineering program information in the Calendar to include the range of credit

hours obtainable at UNBSJ and the current credit equivalences between

campuses.

BSc: Biology-Psychology Option

Program change consists of removal of one recommended elective course and

addition of information on the Pre-Professional Stream Program and a table

listing elective courses to the Calendar.

Chemistry

The twenty three items here included prerequisite changes to CHEM 2065 and

2241 and the deletion of twenty CHEM courses that have not been taught for a

considerable period of time. In addition, a proposed change to the BSc Chemistry

Option to update a list of upper level courses.

Biology:

Proposals from this Department include two new 3000-level courses and a

prerequisite change to one course. There are also housekeeping matters that

include the addition of a note clarifying the status of Nursing students relative to

two BIOL courses, the deletion of one course and the removal from the calendar

of eight courses.

Statistics:

A prerequisite change for STAT 4703, three STAT courses removed from Calendar

but not deleted, changes to the BSC Statistics Major to include DA 4993 as an

upper level Statistics course and a clarification in the wording of the Statistics

Minor to reflect the status of MATH 3633.

Mathematics:

The discipline proposes eleven changes, nine of them dealing with a combination

of prerequisite, title and description changes, typographical errors and the need

to match the wording of UNBF courses. There were also changes to the BSc Math

Minor and the Certificate in Mathematics Education to match the change

proposed by the Arts Faculty and to align the UNBF descriptions.

Nursing:

The discipline proposes five changes; four are course changes that deal with a

combination of credit hours, lab and tutorial hours, prerequisites and course title.

The fifth is an update to the Bachelor of Nursing program wording to align the

program with other UNB sites, to clarify the status of UNIV 1003 as an elective

and to clarify the LPN/BN Bridge issue.

Computer Science:

The discipline proposes fifteen changes to curriculum. One is a change to the BSC

in Computer Science, updating and clarifying information and requirements in

program language. There is a minor rewording of the program description for the

IT Minor. The specific course changes include a new course cross-listed with DA

4403 and the re-instatement of a CS course. The rest are a combination of name

and course description changes and changes to lecture, tutorial and seminar

information.

Health Sciences:

Three changes are proposed: a 4000-level HSCI is renumbered as a 3000-level

course, a required course option is added to Bachelor of Health Sciences and

course information for the Minor in Health Sciences is updated.
