The new Sendera Board of Directors has a strong commitment to increase communications with Sendera residents. One of the best communication tools available is our newsletter that currently goes to every homeowner quarterly. So our challenge became how to make more frequent distributions with zero impact on our budget. After some serious research using the ‘ask a million questions to anyone who will listen’ method, our new friends at the Circle C Homeowners Association and the Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods introduced us to Peel, Inc. Kelly Peel responded promptly to inquiries and explained how they operate. Since 1991, they have been selling advertising to businesses, and combining the ads with articles and announcements submitted by residents, puzzles, and other information to create newsletters to be sent to specific subdivisions as often as every month. They provide local advertisers; we become their audience. We do NOT solicit or sell advertising. They do it all. For our part, we must supply an Editor (Pam Kurburski has volunteered for this assignment) who will review all articles, submit them to Peel, Inc. each month and proof the newsletter before it is distributed. If you want to submit an article, see the instructions below. And what will this cost us, you ask. Zip! Zero! Nada! The newsletter we were paying over $3400 to receive quarterly will now come monthly for free. The Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Peel, Inc. that states there will never be questionable advertising in the newsletter, and our addresses will never be used for any other purpose and will never be sold. We can cancel the agreement at any time, for any reason and without penalty. Sendera residents will be given first (Continued on Page 2) View the Sendera Homeowner's Association Newsletter each month online at www.PEELinc.com Official Community Newsletter July 2006 Volume 1, Number 1 Sendera Homeowner's Association Message from the Board of Directors If you’re not already aware, the Sendera HOA Board of Directors (BoD) recently welcomed four new members: Bob Coggin, Rick Perkins, Barbara Richardson, and Eric Steen. These BoD changes are the result of this year’s election that was held at the very successful “1st Annual Sendera BBQ Cook-off” that took place on the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The event itself was great fun for all, and there will be announcements regarding a number of fun-filled events for the months to come. The BoD would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to the Recreation Committee for the efforts they have dedicated to all of the community events that have taken place so far this year. Without their hard work, none of these events would have been possible. The Sendera BoD is in place for many reasons, but we feel that our primary goal is to help make Sendera the most fantastic, satisfying, and safe place to live; not only in Austin, but anywhere. We feel we owe that to the 813 residents that live here. In order to make this happen, it’s important that each resident recognizes that there are established neighborhood processes, rules, and guidelines. These include (but are definitely not limited to) property appearance, property enhancements, and vehicle restrictions. Many of the other topics can be filed under the “good ‘ole neighborly common sense” heading… they are far too many to list here. The Sendera Deed Restrictions are in place to support our overriding community goal, and the BoD intends to enforce them in the best and most professional manner possible. We are committed to being fair and equitable to ALL residents, no matter the circumstances. In difficult situations we will seek advice from our residents, our management company, and (as necessary) other neighborhoods in our area. At the same time, we are not opposed to revising these restrictions if a particular situation warrants such a change. We always welcome feedback and suggestions for improvements to our community, but what we cherish most is volunteers! The many committees that we already have in place are in constant need of people to assist in neighborhood activities Please contact any of the board members if you have any questions or require any further information. Watch for exciting and informative messages from the BoD in upcoming months. We’re engaged in many different community groups and events that we feel will help make our neighborhood continue to be an enjoyable and safe place to live. Regards, Jerry Riley

Pets bring a lot more than love into your home.If you’ve got a pet, you already know you’re living with pet dander, pet hair, allergens, pollen and whatever else they bring in – unless you’re using The Maids. Our unique Back Pack Vacs with HEPA filtration can capture up to 99% of all that and more. And they also reach places like deep under beds where cats and dogs love to hang out. So if you have pets (or even if you don’t), give us a try. We think you’ll love having us in your home, too.
