AMY’S CORNER: Welcome to August. The dog days of summer are upon us!
Have you checked anything off your bucket list yet this year? Stop in the to Center to
see what’s new.
Membership Keyfobs: Please bring your membership keyfob to “sign in” at the
Center. You only need to swipe in once per day. The information on the screen
shows your name and the date your membership should be renewed. No other
personal info is displayed. Your picture clears as soon as the next person scans in.
The scanner has a camera in the center of it, use the barcode side of the keyfob to
swipe. It is slow. Please be patient, it will go through. Replacement keyfobs are $3.
Covid Updates: Masks are not required for those fully vaccinated, but wear one
if you want. Bring your own water, coffee / snacks. Please do not arrive more than 10
minutes before your scheduled activity. If you test positive for Covid, please contact
Amy so contact tracing can be done. Practice social distancing and keep washing
your hands. There is disinfectant and wipes available for use around the Center.
Summer Fun: The concerts in the park are happening, the Saturday and
Wednesday markets are buzzing with activity, events are returning all around the city.

Check your receipt to be sure you signed up for what you wanted. Give your email for an emailed copy
Please arrive at departure location no later than 10 minutes prior to depart time. * All trip meals and
itineraries are subject to change. Return times are estimates due to weather and traffic.
There is no guarantee the trip will return when scheduled, that is just a best guess. Please keep that in
consideration when making other plans for after a trip.
No food allowed on bus unless medically necessary. Beverages must be a screw cap bottle or with a lid.
No pop (sticky), no dairy.
Seats are not assigned. Requests for front seating are accepted for physically challenged and one trip
partner, not entire group of friends. Please indicate this need at time of sign up. If you have
special needs such as dietary concerns, please let staff know when you register to see how / if it can be
accommodated. You must be able to climb the three bus steps on your own without assistance to ride the
38 passenger bus. If not, you will go to the wait list and if the 2nd bus with the wheelchair lift is added,
you may then register. Please know your limits. If you rely on a wheelchair, or feel you need any
assistance physically or cognitively, you must have your own able-bodied caregiver for all trips.

This gently flowing yoga class uses a chair to help focus on fundamental yoga poses and alignment.
The support of the chair in seated and standing yoga poses allows you to build strength and stamina

The Summer Crisis Program provides air condioners
and payment towards electric bills in the summer
season for our community’s most vulnerable
residents. The HEAP SCP runs July 1 through
September 30 and is designed to help qualified
households pay for cooling in the hot summer
months. Through the SCP, eligible households can
receive a oneme payment on electric bills AND/OR
an air condioner or fan. Air condioners and fans
are available in limited quanty and will be given out
on a first come, first serve basis. Eligible households
must have a 90day gross income that falls at or
below 175% of the federal poverty level AND meets
one of the following eligibility criteria: either has a
household member who is over the age of 60,
provides original physician documentaon of medical
necessity, have a disconnecon noce, have a house-
hold member who has tested posive for COVID19 in
the last 12 months, or needs help paying their first
PIPP payment or PIPP default.

Lake County General Health District is able to provide homebound individuals seeking the COVID19 vac-
cine the opportunity to be vaccinated within their own home. Eligible Lake County residents are those
that have been diagnosed as homebound by a medical professional, need significant assistance to trans-
fer into or out of a vehicle, or those without the ability to schedule transportaon. Visits take place on
Mondays, and two visits are typically required to complete the vaccinaon series. If you, someone you
