As we bring this year and your high school careers to an end, I want to
communicate some things to you. As a class, you have been great to work with. Whenever I had to speak with you, you were honest and forthcoming (sometimes more than I would have liked). You were usually accountable and would listen to reason. Likewise, I had to learn to listen to you. You all had a story to tell, and they were always good to hear. Many of you have had to overcome obstacles that others are not aware of. I respect and admire your ability to persevere. I have enjoyed celebrating great accomplishments with all of you, have commiserated when things didn’t go quite so well.
I have seen great sporting events, transcendent concerts, riveting It’s Academic competitions, inspirational classroom presentations, awesome science fair projects and numerous other things that you have done in your four years here. I talked with students who got all A’s and students who struggled every day in school. I have learned from all of you.I wish all of you the best. Sincerely,
Fred Amico Assistant Principal
DEAR SENIORS,We’ve made it, and not just out of
the parking lot. As we bid farewell to the building we’ve spent more time in than with our families for the past four years, we are both looking forward and remembering the past. It’s been a good run. From surviving the supposed end of the world to breaking in the new Chipotle, it is safe to say that our class has left our mark. While the building may never be the same (it will be nicer), Langley will continue to unite us as we venture into the “real world.” The importance of tradition should never be underestimated but to start a tradition, that is something to be admired. We upheld traditions by unmasking the fashion show and educating at Case Day, but we also did something unique. Relay for Life raised over $57,000 for research to end an insufferable disease. that could send you comfortably to an expensive college for a year. Undoubtedly we brought spirit back to Saxon Country. From morph suits to baby powder we have restored a sense of school pride that will ignite future classes to do the same. Thirteen is usually an unlucky number, but our class is anything but. Just look at the college list and our accomplishments are clear.
However, people are defined by more than a diploma on the wall. The paths we take define us, not where we end up. We might not remember that at our 15 year reunion as we put our best feet forward and tell our remarkable tales, but it’s a nice thought. These four years have changed all of us, but now, for better or for worse we will forever be the class of 2013.

Annie: The first exam/midterm is a life ex-perience. It’s okay if you don’t get a great grade on that first test. Just make sure to learn how to study more effectively.
Arianna: Take at least three classes you would have never signed up for otherwise, and they will probably turn out to be your favorites. I signed up for ballroom dancing with a friend when I had extra time--I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.
Terra: Keep an open mind, introduce your-self to people, and go out of your way to get involved. There won’t be that much work on the first week of school, so put effort into finding something to do. I met my closest group of friends on the first week of school.
Annie: Go to unique events at your school. Whether that is a football game or THON, they are all worth the [time]! They really help you con-nect with your school and make you feel like part of its spirit.
Terra: Shower shoes are a MUST if you are liv-ing in a community style dorm. Surprisingly, [having a roommate] wasn’t so bad. The key to living in such close quarters with someone is to communicate. Clean up after yourself, and don’t make lots of noise late at night. If you have a choice to loft your bed, it creates a lot of space but also gets really annoying when you have to get down and back up to use the bathroom or get water several times per night.
Jun: It’s easy to get too excited about being a college student, joining all the clubs, going to all the parties, taking all the interesting classes. Save some time for yourself. Things generally go bad when you’re occupied all the time and you can miss opportunities. You should really do what you want to do and do something that’s worth your time. Don’t tie yourself down to what you were in high school. When you’re in high school there’s a clear goal, a light at the end of the tunnel we call “col-lege.” But when you get there, you [might] find your-self without an immediate goal or purpose.

As we go our separate ways to enjoy the last summer of high school and begin new chapters of our lives, each of us have different ambitions for the future. Some hope to travel to new places and others want to live on
the edge by taking risks and challenging themselves to face fears (YOLO). The statements below, however, are a showcase of our sense of humor, the ridiculous and the impossible. Beware, you may be inspired to do some-thing extraordinary.
