farmer residing nee y Homer in Logan county was mun dered Wednesday about noon She j went alone to a spring in a valley some distance from the house to get a bucket of milk for dinner Not returning a search was made and her dead body was found about 4 oclock near by hidden behind a large stone in a fence corner and covered with leaves Her was crushed in with a stone lying not far A postmortem ex ¬ amination showed that she had been outraged previous to her mur derTracks of the murderer showed that he wore heelplates on his shoes Bloodhounds were put to serviceHundreds search Thursday arJ it soon be came known from a series of suspi cious circumstances that Hugh Marshall a white man living a mile or two away of a low order of intelligence was the probable awayfrom deserted with a fire in
