Closing (Duration 15 minutes)

• Begin with the Satin Hands® Pampering Set: “The first sensation you will experience is on the hands.” Give a brief presentation and explanation of the steps for using Satin Hands® while your guests try it.

• Encourage your guests to share their Satin Hands® experience with the group. There could be some fabulous comments! Ask them to mark the set on the “Customize Your Style” form if they liked it.

• Have each guest smell the fragrance samples on display. Tell your guests more about the fragrances at this time. (There is more information at the beginning of this guide.) For simplicity, you could go in the order of the fragrances on the placemat.

• Ask your guests to mark their favorite fragrances on the placemat or “Customize Your Style” form.

• Now, have each guest smell only the fragrances she marked and choose her favorite.

• In a group, share the “personalities” found on the back of the placemat with your guests. “(Her name), your fragrance is Belara®. Can you tell us about your person-ality?” (Guest reads the information from the placemat.) “Thank you for sharing your personality with us.”

• Also, if you have body care product samples with you at the party, you can display them, and when mentioning them, you can have each of your guests smell, touch and sample them. Emphasize the differences between each of these products, highlighting their unique benefits.

• Encourage your guests to check each of the products they want or need on the “Customize Your Style” form. Don’t forget to present the benefits.

• You can have each guest read her “Customize Your Style” form and comment briefly on the reasons for her fragrance choice.

• Ask your guests positive questions such as: “Did you identify with your fragrance’s personality?” “How do your hands feel?” “Did you like the Mary Kay ® body care products we saw?”, etc.

• Next, you can do an individual closing where your guests hand in their “Customize Your Style” forms.

• Mention to your guests that the “Customize Your Style” form will help you know what products they are interested in. It also will help you keep them informed about promotions and ways they can obtain these products by becoming a hostess or providing referrals.*

• You might tell your guests that if they liked the fragrances and body care products, they are sure to love the skin care products. At this time, offer them a skin care sampler to try at home. Remember that your objective is to follow up with them (up to 48 hours after you have given them the sampler)!

• When appropriate, offer the Mary Kay opportunity at the individual closing.

• Thank your guests for their attention, and let them know you hope they had a good time, full of scent-sations.

What do you need for your Sensorrific party?The following suggested materials are to help you conduct an exciting Sensorrific party. Feel free to customize the party to fit your personality and style. You’ll want to consider having these party supplies on hand before your event:

We also suggest you take additional body care product and fragrance samples with you. Remember to coach your hostess and review the flow of the party with her. We recommend that you bring spice jars/cheese shakers filled with coffee beans to neutralize the nose after smelling different scents. Your guests can smell these beans after they have tried at least three fragrances, to keep the scents from mixing.

Nicely display your products on the table. Place the “Discover the Scent That Expresses Your Style” placemats and the “Custom-ize Your Style” forms on every chair.

Welcome (Duration 10 minutes maximum)

• Welcome everyone and introduce yourself to your guests. You can briefly share your personal story and your Mary Kay business achievements. Tell them about the Company by saying something like: “Mary Kay is a company founded by Mary Kay Ash more than 45 years ago in Dallas, Texas, and is in more than 30 markets around the world.”

• Mention how happy you are to have everyone at this party. Let them know that each of them will have a personal and unique experience. You can say something like: “I’d like to welcome you to this Sensorrific party where your senses will come alive; you’ll see an array of colors, feel textures and experience irresistible scents.”

• Give your hostess recognition: “Before we begin experiencing the different scent-sations, I’d like to give special recognition to our hostess, (her name), for giving us the opportunity to experience this great party.” You may want to offer her a special gift that could impress the guests.

• Explain the materials found on each guest’s chair. You might say: “As you can see, each of you has two sheets. One sheet has a photo of each Mary Kay® fragrance and some body care products on the front with information about each fragrance. The other sheet is a ‘Customize Your Style’ form. Use it to mark every product you like, and then we will talk about the different ways you can get them. Don’t forget to fill in your contact information as this form will become my personal file for each of you.”
