TRANSDUCERS

A device which converts 1 form of energy into another.

In a process industry 4 basic and very important parameters to be measured and controlled are:

1) Flow 2) Temperature 3) Pressure 4) Level

PRESSURE MEASUREMENT Manometric Method

Elastic Pressure Transducers

1) Bourdon Tube

2) Bellows

3) Diaphragms

4) Capsule

Electric Pressure Transducers

1) Capacitive e.g. D.P. Cell

2) Inductive e.g. LVDT

PRESSURE GAUGE Generally named as Pressure gauges or Vacuum gauges.

Absolute pressure is zero-referenced against a perfect vacuum, so it is equal to gauge pressure plus atmospheric pressure.Gauge pressure is zero-referenced against ambient air pressure, so it is equal to absolute pressure minus atmospheric pressure.Differential pressure is the difference in pressure between two points
