The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to

faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

~ II Timothy 2:2 ~

All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of

all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the

end of the age.

~ Matthew 28:18 - 20 ~

September 2015

1, 2, & 3 – We are so thankful for God’s work in our English camp this summer! We saw evidence of

movement towards God’s kingdom, especially in two of our friends. Pray with us as we seek to connect

with our students over the next year. We long to see them coming into the church and into the Kingdom.

4, 5, & 6 – Please pray with us as we start our fall activities. We are especially eager to re-start the home

groups in Zlín and Karolinka. Pray that the Lord will use these groups to build up the church, raise up and

test new leaders, and build fellowship among the believers who attend.

7, 8, & 9 – Evan Grady will start the second grade in Czech public school this month. We are so thankful

for how well he adapted to school last year and ask that you pray with us for another good year.

10, 11, & 12 – We hope to have a congregational meeting of the Zlín Reformed Church soon to discuss

our pastor’s vision for discipleship within the church body. Pray for the members of the church to eagerly

accept his vision and to step up to help him carry it out.

13, 14, & 15 – The Rutledges will be attending a conference this week entitled “Living in Grace” as part

of their MTW training process. Pray that they will be deeply impacted by the Gospel during this week and

that they will meet and make new friends.

16, 17, & 18 – Please pray for a time of teacher training for all of our Sunday school teachers. We are

hoping to introduce a new series of lessons and discuss how to teach them, with an emphasis on reaching

the children’s hearts. Please pray for soft hearts for our children as we move into a new season.

19, 20, & 21 – Many of you prayed for the Johnson’s visa application process. We are thankful that the

embassy accepted their applications, which is a big step forward. Please pray that the Interior Ministry

will look favorably on these applications and approve them soon.

22, 23, & 24 – Please pray for our friend Bob Zhaňal as he undergoes surgery this week. Bob and his wife

Dana are faithful in their attendance at the Zlín church and are precious to all of us.

25, 26, & 27 – We are very thankful for how the Lord worked through our summer interns this year,

especially during our girl’s week and our English camp.

28, 29, & 30 – Please give thanks with us that Abby Rutledge is doing well as a sophomore in college this

year. Please pray that she will be able to find the family with whom she will stay when Kevin and Jan

move to Zlín.

October 2015

1, 2, & 3 – We are very thankful for the excellent time of learning and fellowship that took place during

girl’s week this summer. We hope to find ways to stay in touch and work with the young ladies who

attended. This fall will bring some special challenges in this area since some of these girls will be

attending schools in other cities.

4, 5, & 6 – We are thankful for God’s leading during our annual planning and prayer retreat in August.

Please pray with us for direction and wisdom as we pursue the plans we made. We want to begin a

program of discipleship and need guidance to know with whom we should spend our time over the next

year.

7, 8, & 9 – We have many mothers with young children in our church, and one family that is expecting a

new baby. Please pray for health and strength for these moms, all of whom are working full or part-time

jobs.

10, 11, & 12 – Please pray for us as we renew our efforts to learn the Czech language. All of us stop

taking classes during the summer and will need to make the effort to get back in a language studying

routine this fall.

13, 14, & 15 – We are thankful that two girls answered the call to mission at a Christian camp in which

the Rutledges were teaching. Please pray that the Lord will continue to raise up a new generation of

missionaries in Mission to the World and across his whole church.

16, 17, & 18 – This year our good friend Daniella Drápalová will spend five days each week in a city two

hours away from her home town. This will be a huge change for her and her family. Please pray for

wisdom and help for this whole family during this change.

19, 20, & 21 – Please pray with us for the annual church retreat. Due to the closure of the facilities in

which the retreat has been held in the past, we are uncertain about the timing and the content of this year’s

retreat.

22, 23, & 24 – There are many families in the Zlín Reformed Church who have very dear unbelieving

friends. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will be at work in the year ahead to draw some of these families

into the church. Pray that we will find ways to introduce our unbelieving friends to our church family.

25, 26, & 27 – Please continue to pray for the Rutledges as they seek for more speaking opportunities in

churches and homes. They are thankful for the appointments they have been given, and are still hoping to

arrive in Zlín in January 2016.

28, 29, 30, & 31 – Please pray for greater openness to the Gospel in the Czech Republic. Pray that the

Lord will be pleased to reduce the time it takes from the first hearing of the good news to the moment of

faith in Christ.
