Kennell has over 40 years of experience in nonprofit leadership andfundraising. He was in service to three nonprofit organizations as executivedirector, to two fundraising consulting firms as founder and principal, and tothe western region of a nationwide charitable and financial services firm asmanaging director. Furthermore, he worked as a member of the president’sstaff at New York University and as vice president for advancement at aMidwestern liberal arts college. In addition, he served as the DevelopmentOfficer for our Estes Valley Library and as board member and officer fornumerous nonprofit and civic organizations. The Rotary Club of Estes Park meets Thursdays at the Rodeway Inn inEstes Park, located at 1701 North Lake Avenue on Highway 34 just west ofDry Gulch Road. Please note our new Rotary location. Visitors interested inlearning more about Rotary and its programs are welcome to attend. Meeting Notes for August 25 President Thor Homme rang the bell at 12:00. The Invocation was presentedby David Van Wert. Dave Evans led us in song and the Pledge ofAllegiance. Guests were introduced by Wayne Newsom. There were noVisiting Rotarians. Guests of Rotarians: Claudine Perrault introduced DistrictFire Chief David Wolf; Peter Sinnott introduces Land Trust Executive DirectorJeffrey Boring; and Jack Overly introduced Steve Smersh. Don Widrig and C.J. Jensen announced the work session after themeeting to clear the room of furniture and equipment in preparationfor the Longs Peak Rotary garage sale.Chuck Bonza reported that the Farmers Market has been verysuccessful this year, and they are appreciative of our help. Volunteersare needed.President Thor announced that Dick Broman will be leaving for Texasnext week. He will be transferring his membership to a Rotary club inArlington, TX.Karol Rinehart reminded the members that club meetings are beingmoved to the Rodeway Inn starting September 1. She will need ahead count for lunch. Funding of lunch and meeting room costs isbeing determined.

Tara Moenning thanked Karen Thompson for her work on the PeachSale. 72 boxes of peaches were sold.Rob Ludlum is happy for the 100 year celebration of the NationalPark System, and is sorry to be leaving Rebecca and Estella.Jack Overly, Anne Slack, and Pete Sumey all expressed good wishesfor Dick Broman as he leaves for Texas.Anne Slack announced an open house at Healing Waters.Claudine Perrault thanked Roger Thorp for his help with pictures forthe library 100th anniversary program guide.President Thor thanked Rebecca and Estella for their faithful serviceof the noon meal for our meetings, and presented gifts from the clubto them.
