We work in time shifts down here,as many business do, so at time of writing, being mid-Augustwith Wynton Marsalis playing downstairs all this week, we areplanning Christmas. And we are booking next year too, artistsbooked all over the first half of 2012, we even have two weeksblocked off in June already.

So the September and October programme seems old news to us,but hopefully not to everyone else.

It’s a very mixed programme, a programme full of variety andsurprises. The Family Stone, funk band supreme, even without Sly,make a first off visit, Incognito play their second weekend, Pee WeeEllis celebrates his 70th birthday or 50th year in showbusiness(take your pick) and the JTQ return all in September which for suregives the month a distinct soul/funk feel, counterbalanced by thejazz of our Oscar Petersen homage gigs, a one-off evening withJacqui Dankworth and the Johns Williams and Etheridge. Plus onSeptember 28th 20 years ago Miles Davis passed away, so weremember him with 4 nights of concerts dedicated to his classicalbum ‘Kind of Blue’ and the Electric Period.

October takes on a more jazz feel with one obvious exception - ToddRundgren. Yes I know, but how can you say no to a legend whenthey come knocking? A likely contender for gig of the year. If Jazzlegends are more your bag then there’s Cedar Walton, Louis Hayes,Ramsey Lewis and Mike Stern, and in the middle of all that threenights with the Julian Joseph All Star Big Band, and All Star it is withJean Toussaint, Peter King, Steve Williamson, Byron Wallen andSoweto Kinch all promised in the line up, amongst many others.

I hope you all enjoy all these whilst we start work on Easter.
