WHY IS SEPTEMBER 11TH IMPORTANT?

Although you likely do not remember this event, you live in a

society that was dramatically affected.

WHERE WAS THE ATTACK?

• Located mostly in New York City, but affected Washington DC and Pennsylvania as well

• In NYC, the attack was centered on the World Trade Center, specifically the Twin Towers

THE WORLD TRADE CENTER

• The South Tower of the WTC stood at 1362 feet and the North Tower stood 6 feet taller, at 1368 feet

• Both towers had 110 stories• 50,000 people worked in the Twin
