We had 102 congregations represented from six different states, making up 466 teams! Sycamore brought ten teams. We had one team make it to the finals. They were: Rachel Masters, Tucker Mas- ters, Sarah Smith, and Megan Whitson. We had two of our young people receive the 90 & Above Award: Sarah Smith and Rachel Mas- ters, both with a score of 92. Two of our Young Achievers (1st grade and down) from Sycamore, made the top ten from over 100 of that group. They were: Layah Rich and Logan Jefcoat. For all those from Sycamore who were scorekeepers, we say thanks! For all those who picked up trash, we say thanks! For all those who set up and took down, we say thanks! For all those who did registration, we say thanks! For Horace’s time as quizmaster, we say thanks! For all those who cooked for the Sycamore folks, we say thanks! For all those on the committee working with Don Fox, we say thanks! For all the coaches and participants for their diligent study, we say thanks! To God be the glory for the good that was accomplished for Bible Bowl 2013, and to God we say thanks! Community Outreach Campaign We would love everyone to come out and help with this outreach to the community on Saturday, September 21, 1:00-5:00pm, and on Sunday from lunch until 4:30pm. We will be looking to set up Bible studies and spread God’s love. We will also be handing out informa- tion about the Community Health Fair that is coming up in October. This will be a great opportunity to serve, even if you have just one hour to spare. Also, we need people to sign-up to provide lunch Sun- day at the building. We urge everyone to come on out! Haiti Mission Trip Meeting There will be a second meeting today, Sept. 15, 4:30pm, in the old auditorium. We truly need help in so many ways! Donations can be made to support this trip in the box below the missions TV in the ves- tibule. Please take a white bracelet off the prayer tree and commit to praying for the team that God goes with them. The bracelets say, “Ay ak bon Dye”, which is “Go with God” in Haitian Creole. The trip has been arranged so teachers can attend and offer support to the church supported schools. Please help to support this great work! Vision Basketball Sycamore sponsors this Christian league for the community, working with other local congregations. It is for 6 years old up to 12th grade. The cost is $40 if paid by Sept. 23, & $50 after. New players must do a Skills Test on Saturday, Sept. 21, 9:00-11:00am, at Collegeside Church of Christ. Applications are available at the back of our audito- rium & are due Oct. 14 . Pay the church office or the black payment box outside Jill’s office. We also need some great coaches and great referees who can be mentors to these young people. Please see Greg Rector or me if you are interested or if you have any questions about this ministry. GROW Ministry—Class of the Week

Great Job Bible Bowlers! We had 102 congregations represented from six different states, making up 466 teams! Sycamore brought ten teams. We had one team make it to the finals. *Kenneth Nelson, J.D. Lee, Kelly Fletcher, David Sparks, Tim McCloud, Howard Sherfey, and Mike & Barbara Vent-ers have ongoing health issues.

*Oleen Mahan, asks for prayers for her granddaughter, Pricilla, and also for her daughter Lisa.

Sexual Abuse Prevention Training Every elder, deacon, teacher, van driver, staff person, vol-unteer, and etc. are required to take this training. If you are a teacher and are teaching this quarter and will not be teaching the next quarter (or vice versa)… you also need to take this training. It is very important that we get this com-pleted. If you have not received an email with the Ministry Safe link, and you have checked for it in “spam” file, please contact Peggy Medlin or let the church office know. There are copies of the Sexual Abuse Policy on the counter in the back of the auditorium, and posted outside the copy room.

Fall Family Camping Family camping is Sept. 20-22, at Dale Hollow Dam Camp-ground. The bulletin board has contact info to make your reservation. See Don or Donna Fox with any questions.

AR Readers for Sycamore School We need readers for the school! It takes 20 minutes a week. Sign up in the vestibule or see Kevin for any ques-tions. Please consider helping with this great outreach!

Bible Class Correction It got left out of the bulletin, but on Wednesday nights Horace Burks will be teaching a post-college age class in the fellowship room annex entitled, The Study of Denomi-nations. Brandon Pruett is teaching this group on Sundays.

Health & Disaster Response Fair We have a wonderful opportunity to serve our com-munity on Oct. 26 when Sycamore will host this Health & Disaster Response Fair! There is a sign up sheet posted on the bulletin board for people to be on different committees. This will be an outreach to the community and the county. Contact Jessica Pruett or one of the elders for more information on how to get involved with this great work.

Congregational Wedding Shower There will be a congregational wedding shower for Tyler Reeder and Stephanie Hall tonight the 15th, in the fellowship room following the evening worship hour. They are registered at Belk, Target and at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

House Parents Needed Happy Haven Children’s Home is still seeking Chris-tian couples to apply as additional house parents. They have an immediate need for a dedicated Chris-tian couple with a heart of service for helping chil-dren. They provide residential child care for girls. Both husband and wife must be faithful members of the church of Christ. The wife would be salaried as house mother; the husband can be employed off campus. Compensation includes: $22,000 salary for house mother, large home with free rent and utili-ties, use of passenger van, and other benefits. Service Wednesday—We will be visiting our shut-ins,

and eating at Jackson Plaza.

Prayer Breakfast—The next prayer breakfast will be Sept. 19, 7am, at Chick-Fil-A for High Schoolers.

Encounter—Our first Encounter is Sept. 29, after pm ser-vices at the Spillers.

Tailgate/Overtime—The next tailgate will be Oct. 4 at the Cookeville High School. We will begin tailgating at 5:30pm, and be having pizza. There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule to help with set-up and to bring food. There will be no overtime due to the hayride and bonfire the next night.

Halloween Bash/Hayride & Bonfire—It’s a little early, but we are going to be kicking off October with an early Halloween Bash and hayride on Oct. 5. This will be at the Thomas’ house. There will be a costume contest, games, hayride, devo, food, and bon fire.

Grow—Our next Grow project will be September 24 at 6:30pm at the church building.

Sycamore Seniors Sept 21 - Visiting sick & shut-in’s and supper. Meet at the building at 2:30. We will meet together again at 5 pm for supper at Twin Lakes Catfish Farm.

All you have to do is take a name, and they will correspond with you using your computer. The tests are graded automatically. GROW Ministry Blitz Steve Reeder’s Old Auditorium class will meet today, September 15, 4:30pm, to write cards, make calls, and make visits. Meet in the old auditorium, and we will give you your assignments. If you teach on Sunday mornings, please choose a class with which to attend. This GROW Blitz is helping us to send out hundreds of cards and make dozens of visits! Much good is being done to God’s glory! We appreciate all those who are coming out to help! Please keep up the fantastic work!

Golf Tournament for Happy Haven The Vietnam Veterans of America are hosting this tour-ney at the Ironwood Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 12. There is $5,000 grand prize for a hole-in-one on hole #7.
