As we have settled in our new home this summer, God has brought us in contact with a g roup of people that are experiencing a lif e that is anything but “home sweet home.” Several thousand refugees are living in downtown Kansas City, and are from the Asian country of Myanmar  (formerly called Burma). They escaped their country which is cu rrently controlled by a violent military government, and these people have experienced persecution, torture, famine, abuse, and so much more. They bring with them the demons of the past, and are living in our American culture where they don’t speak the language, nor do they truly feel at home. These families face incredible struggles from without, and especially from within, as many do not  personally know the Lord. Our consistent prayer is that God would connect us with others in Kansas Cit y who would share our passion to build spiritual homes, whether those ho mes be American or Burmese. God answered our prayer by divinely connecting us with a local missionary couple (Rich and Vicki) who work specifically with all internationals living in K.C. (ask us about this! It’s a God thing!) Micah and Rich had the opportunity to spend 3 1/2 hours a few weeks ago in one of the homes of the Burmese refugees. Late into th e night, they shared the truth of God’s love to 7 adults and 4 children of the Hakha -Chin tribe of Burma   through a Christian Bur- mese translator, they shared His love to 11 people who have mostly experienced hate and indifference. They saw the Holy Spirit bridge the language and cultural ga p by bringing 5 of these adults into a personal relationship with God. Yes, you now have 5 new Burmese brothers and sisters in Christ! If you do not have the chance to meet them in this life, know that you will spend eternity with them. Your prayer and financial support is what allows us to be here bringing the gospel to those who need it...and for God to use us to “open their eyes” to “bring them from darkness into light”. Thank you for partnering with us for the spread of His gospel. In addition to our other ministry outreaches, we are now plan ning various ways to minister to the Burmese   a marriage seminar, parenting seminar, church leadership training, and we also desire to train Americans to share the gospel  by teaching English to the Burmese in Kansas C ity. Please pray for wisdom and energy as we press on! How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! go team go!

Coming up in March 0f 2012, we have our 2 Weekend to Remember marriage conferences

here in Kansas City. Last year, we had about 1000 husbands and wives attend this event.

Many came to Christ, and so many more made commitments to follow God’s Word in their

life, marriage, and family. Changed lives! From darkness to light! It’s why we do what we

do. Starting this month, we are calling dozens of local couples who are interested in joining

our existing local ministry team. They are couples who have a passion to be used by God, to

build homes. Not homes made from brick, mortar, or wood….but spiritual homes. Please

pray that many would commit to working alongside us as we begin many different ministryoutreaches. We have our first meeting for the Kansas City ministry team on Oct. 1st. Pray

that we can lead the team well, and that this local ministry team will be galvanized and

synergistic in our efforts. There is much work to be done, and few people and little time to

do it. May God grant energy!

We hopped down to Branson for a

day to spend some time with close

friends at Silver Dollar City. We had a

fantastic time together relaxing be-fore our busy season begins.

Ethan lost his

first tooth last

month. He was

pretty excited

with this mile-

stone.

He has started

2nd grade.Emma started Kin-

dergarten. She has

always loved to learn

and is extra excited

to be “officially” sit-

ting at school with

the brothers.

Josiah is growing up so quickly. He has

almost 100 chickens, is making and sell-

ing bread weekly and is always looking

for new business

opportunities. He is in 4th grade.

Grace is going to be 1 in October! That is so

hard to believe. She had a rough first year

but thankfully we are pleased to say she is a

much happier baby this year!

I think this picture says it

all. She just makes us

smile. We never know

what Abigail is going to

do next. She is a true

delight.
