BUNNINGS SPRING LAUNCH FAIR REPORT
What a lovely day we had at the Annual Bunning’s Spring Launch Fair on Saturday 31st August. It is a day which gives community groups the oppor-tunity to promote their Clubs and Organisations and have a bit of fun too. So, with the weather being so kind to us, it really was a fun and worthwhile day. A big thank you to Dennis, Leo, Scott, Dale and Robyn for giving up your time to help promote our Club & give McCredie Park the exposure that they deserve!!
Remember… If you can imagine it, You can achieve it.
If you can dream it, You can become it.
STATE AGE S/C CHAMPS—FRIDAY 2ND TO
SUNDAY 3RD AUGUST
McCredie Park had 8 swimmers
competing at the State Age S/C
Champs including 2 Relay
Teams—the Women’s 400 Free &
400 Medley Team and the Men’s
400 Medley Team. PB’s were the order of Meet with 18 out of
20 PB’s being achieved overall. Awesome effort guys!! Big
cheers to Dale, Emily, Ryan, Kayla, Jean Pierre, Katarina,
Alyce & Liam M!!
CAMPBELLTOWN 12/UNDER S/C MEET—SUNDAY 25TH AUGUST
Well done to our team of 7 swimmers whom competed at the Campbelltown
12 & Under Meet recently. Our team of Coral, Liam, Bianca, Jessie, Sophie,
Amy and Ashleigh did our Club proud with a special mention to Liam for win-
ning a Gold Medal in his Breaststroke, a Silver Medal in his Butterfly and a
Bronze Medal in his Backstroke! Fantastic effort Liam!! And well done to all of
our terrific McCredie Park Team!! You guys are just awesome!
AUSTRALIAN OPEN NATIONALS S/C CHAMPION-
SHIPS—FRIDAY 23RD TO SUNDAY 25 AUGUST
What an unbelievable achievement and experience for
our Male Club Captain, Dale, to qualify and compete at
this year’s Open National S/C Champs!! Not only did
Dale achieve a wonderful PB in his 50m Breaststroke, he
also did our Club very proud. Well done Dale, you are a true inspiration to our
younger generation of McCredie Park Swimmers!!
QUOTE OF THE MONTH………………………
I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take
more chances. Be more active. Show up more often.

SWIM TIP OF THE MONTHSWIM TIP OF THE MONTH
TRAINING WITH WEIGHTS
It is important that young swimmers are not introduced to
weight load resistance training too young and around 15
years old is considered about the right age for young
swimmers to learn the basic techniques. Correct tech-
nique is vital to avoid injury. Weightroom exercises that
are suitable for swimmers include cleans and snatches, re-
active squats, reactive bench, small weights, small dumb-
bells and kettle-bells. Some exercises apply to all
strokes, but some are stroke-specific. It is essen-
tial that you find a trainer whom is familiar with
the specific needs of a swimmer & not just weight
lifting or “bulking up”
A special happy birthday goes out to two of
our very valued and hardworking members
whom celebrated their birthdays in
August—Happy Birthday to Sue (28th) and
Dan (30th). We hope you both had truly wonderful and
happy days from all of your friends at McCredie Park!!
MCCREDIE PARK’S RECIPE OF
THE MONTH FROM THE
“ NOBLE FAMILY”
CHICKEN STROGANOFF
Serves 4
Preparation : 10 mins
Cooking : 15 mins
INGREDIANTS
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium (150g) brown onion, chopped finely
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
250g button mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup chicken stock
250ml light sour cream
1 cooked chicken
1 tablespoon seeded mustard
2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon leaves
METHOD
Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the onion,
stirring until soft. Stir in the paprika and cook,
stirring, for two minutes. Add mushrooms and
sauce and cook, stirring for about five minutes or
until they are browned.
Stir in the stock and cream, bring to the boil then
simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about
five minutes, or until the sauce has thickened
slightly.
Meanwhile, remove the flesh from the chicken and
slice it thickly. Add the chicken and mustard to the
pan and stir until the chicken is heated through.
Stir in the tarragon and serve the stroganoff with
fettuccine, if desired.
