Nut Free Granola Bars 4 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup rice crispies
1 cup + 4 tsp oat flour
4 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
6 Tbsp oil (coconut or olive)
1 cup + 2 Tbsp honey
Add-ins
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup craisins
1/3 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°
Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl
and wet ingredients in a separate smaller bowl.
Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix well.
Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper (not
WAX!!)
Pour approximately half of the
mixture onto the parchment paper in the pan.
Spread it out then lay a separate piece of
parchment paper over the top of the mixture.
Using something with a flat bottom press the
mixture down firmly.
Cook 15-18 min, remove from
oven and squish the bars down again .
Let the pan cool for a few min and then
Refrigerate for 10 minutes before cutting.
This batch will fill 2, 9x13 pans.

A Storytelling Kit is a set of activities that are designed to allow a parent and child to actively participate in open ended
activities based on a book or theme. The primary purpose is to support and enhance development through activities which provide
the child a multi-sensory experience. These kits are available for lending in our lending library. Here are some examples.

Building Better Behavior, Self-Regulation and Co-Regulation
Children Make great choices—under the right conditions. The more STRESSED a child (or adult for
that matter) is, the less capable they are of making pro-social decisions.
Learn and Understand the brain science and social factors involved in emotional/physical
regulation.

Kevin MacKenzie is an Early Childhood Educator and Storyteller who is
currently working with Kids First Regina to create a self regulation training
program for educators, parents and children. His DVD’s of finger plays are used
across the world.
As an adult (who was once a child) living with ADHD, Kevin understands
self regulation from a very real, day to day perspective. His workshops are
always lively, hands on fiestas!
