Fundraising Book collection for the 2016 Book Bazaar has begun!
The Auxiliary Warehouse is open every Tuesday from 8 -11 a.m. now
through October 27 and on Saturday, September 5 and October 3 from
8 - 11 a.m. On September 27 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and September 28
from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Hero’s in Style will have a Uniform Sale in
the Auditorium. The 2016-2017, two-year pocket calendars are
available in the Gift Shop and in the Auxiliary Office for $4 each.
2015-2016 calendars have been reduced and are available in the
Auxiliary Office only for $2 each.
Gift Shop Don’t give up on summer yet —we have some great items
for outdoor fun that transitions well to fall. Cooler weather
jackets, sweaters and scarves are beginning to appear on our
displays in this season’s colors. Now available is
www.memhosp.com/gift-shop — our online access to ordering fresh
flowers and select gifts like candy, balloons and maternity gifts.
We are excited about being able to use this new method of offering
services to our customers and community. Cardinal merchandise is
ever popular as the Cardinal Nation season continues. The Gift Shop
is still in need of volunteers to take the candy cart around to the
patients and visitors on the nursing units. Call the Auxiliary
Office for more details.

Dues for 2016 It is time to pay dues for 2016. We will start
collecting your annual membership dues now through December 31.
Dues may be paid by mailing your check to the Auxiliary Office,
Memorial Hospital, 4500 Memorial Drive, Belleville, IL 62226 or
credit/debit card over the phone or in the office.• Active or
Junior Volunteer Membership = $5• Sustaining Membership = $8• Life
Membership = $100 used to maintain the Auxiliary Educational
Assistance Programs.
Quilts There is a new baby quilt in the Auxiliary Office done
with light blue and yellow patches. The man in the moon and a star
are quilted in each of the yellow patches. It is priced at $60. All
of our quilts are hand quilted by our volunteers.
After Hours in the Gift Shop After Hours in the Gift Shop was
held August 6 at 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. on August 7. A “Spend More,
Save More” special was held. If you spent up to $50 you saved 10
percent, up to $100 you saved 15 percent and over $100 you saved 20
percent. This special was successful bringing 107 guests through
the door with 85 guest making purchases of $974.63. The next After
Hours in the Gift Shop is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at
10 p.m.

Disposal of Expired Medications Memorial Hospital is continuing
to collect your unused or expired drugs or health supplements and
dispose of them according to Illinois EPA regulations. You can
bring them to the Auxiliary Office during office hours.

Maternity Fair Volunteers, Jean Joseph and Ruth Ogles worked
registration at the 2015 Maternity Fair held on Saturday, August 22
in the Hospital Auditorium. Dr. William Dwyer, Neonatologist, and
Ruth Holmes, Memorial Hospital East administrator, spoke about all
that is new and exciting here at Memorial and what is to come at
Memorial East. Volunteers, Nancy Baldus, Chris
Hubert and Judie Louden worked the Gift Shop’s display at the
Maternity Fair. They showcased the wide range of great baby items
we have
available in the shop. Other vendors had booths of merchandise
and products for the new “Mother’s to be” to see and try out. Tours
were conducted to those interested in seeing the Birthing Center.
Snacks were served and attendance prizes were drawn. There was
plenty of joy and excitement at this event. Everyone had a great
time.

Nominating Committee Report The 2015 Nominating Committee of
Dolores Miller, Shirley Wehrenberg, Judy Kennedy and Ruth Ogles is
recommending the following slate of officers for the 2016 Executive
and Nominating Committees. The new slate of officers is being
presented and will be voted on at the December Membership Meeting
on December 1, 2015.
