Dear Colleagues,

Our Bank has recently concluded the Sports Meet. Congratulations to all the staff members for participating in the events enthusiastically and making it a lively one. Persistence with the good performance and unwillingness to give up, ultimately matter at the end of the day – it is not the winning or losing. This ability of yours has attracted the attention of the dignitaries who attended the sports events who drew an analogy as to how and why our Bank has been consistently doing well in some of the crucial efciency parameters. I am happy to observe that all participants have exhibited their best qualities in the sports and would want everyone to continue the same.

Back to work again. As I have been telling you, it is a privilege to sit on a position that we do today – the privilege acquired through the process of our employment. There is an institutional arrangement between our Bank and the Society and we have the power to full the function of demand and supply of banking and nancial needs, by following prudent practices. This process, together with all other arrangements in the system, is what is keeping the society on moving forward. I want you all to understand this space we occupy in the system and be motivated to be a contributing factor for the forward movement. No doubt, we are doing it. But if we do it consciously, what sometimes we refer to as 'burden', will become an 'opportunity'. And what we refer to as 'responsibility', will become a 'privilege'.

Training System in our Bank and Staff Learning Centre in particular are strengthening themselves to be of much more relevance to the Staff. Training methods are taking new shapes. The SLC is coming up with an innovative idea of making videos for each product. Each video, I am sure, will give comprehensive understanding of the sanction of product / service including documentation. It is really an innovative approach to imparting knowledge and skills. I hope you all will benet from these tools at your leisure, viewing in your mobiles / Vikasnet. Knowledge gives condence and power and you will be at ease carrying out your day to day function. I congratulate the Chief Manager and other faculty members of SLC for this initiative.

I too observe that many youngsters are very resourceful in their ideas for a better output and have passion for giving their ideas to workable solutions. They have huge potential to be tapped and unrestrained dynamism to be domesticated. In recent times, I have seen some beautiful and effective presentations on our Bank's products and services from young staff members. I have also witnessed exquisite talent during sports meet both on the eld and off the eld. It will do wonders if we properly tap it to be channelized in our ow of process and functioning.

I suggest all, particularly those at the helm of affairs of their respective units, to be in the lookout for special talents, both in terms of skills / aptitude and traits / attitude, for nurturing their leadership qualities. The ability of our Organisation to move forward from here, depends on our ability to make every one of the staff member to be a leader in their own functioning.

SOME FACTS ABOUT HUMAN BLOOD

� The average volume of blood present in an adult male body is 5.6 liters while an adult female body contains 4.5 liters of blood on an average.

� Nearly 7% of the body weight of a human is made up of blood.

� A new born baby of 3 days age will have around 82 ml/kg of blood in its body.

� Any adult individual can safely donate one unit of blood, that is, 300 ml once every three months.

� Blood donation improves overall health of an individual and reduces the risk of cancer

� Net prot at Rs. 503.01 Rs cr @ 42.90 % (Rs 351.99 Crore 57.51%) Gross NPAs reduced to Rs 195.64 Crore (1.36%) as on 31.3.2018 from Rs 209.74 Crore (1.69%).

� Net NPAs reduced to Rs.28.03 Cr (0.20%) from Rs.87.57 Cr (0.72%).

� Provision Coverage Ratio increased to 85.67% from 58.25%

� Cost of deposits decreased to 6.30% as on 31.3.18 from 6.89%.

� Business per Branch Rs.37.30 cr (32.80 Cr) Business per Employee Rs 9.06 cr (8.36 Cr)

� Net Prot per Employee Rs 15.92 Lakh (11.81 Lakh)

� Net worth increased to Rs.2252.82 Cr as on 31.3.18 from Rs.1749.81 Cr as on 31.3.17 @28.75%.

� Reserves increased to Rs.2158.74 Cr as on 31.3.18 from Rs.1655.72 Cr as on 31.3.17 @30.38%.

� Return on Assets improved to 2.24% as on 31.3.18 from 1.82%.

� Return on Equity improved to 22.33% as on 31.3.18 from 20.12%.

� Yield on advances marginally declined to 11.44% as on 31.3.18 from 11.90%.

� Cost to Income Ratio (Expenses Ratio) has considerably come down to 27.75% from35.03%.

� NII was up by 30.10%. It increased to Rs 848.19 Crore in 2017-18 from Rs 651.93 Crore.

� NIM improved to 4.15% as on 31.3.18 from 3.86%.

� Capital Adequacy Ratio at 15.59 as on 31.3.18 up by 10.96% vis-à-vis 14.05% as on31.3.2017.

� Other Income grew by 50.86% to reach a level of Rs 297.49 Crore from Rs 197.19 Cr.

� Credit to Agriculture at Rs.9666.29 Cr (Rs 8403.85 Cr) at a growth rate of 15.02% (Rs.1262.44 Cr)

� Disbursed Rs 7234.04Crore to agriculture ( Rs 6687.77 Cr.)

� No. of Agriculture borrowers increased to 1027206 from previous FY's level of 975289. SHGs increased to 194776 from previous FY's number of 189884.

Success is dened by Cambridge Dictionary as “Achieving results wanted”.

It is derived from Latin word 'Successus' meaning result or outcome, attaining desired result.

Everyone wants to be a successful person in life. Nobody wants to be a failure. Then why is not every one successful? Why some people are achieving their goals while others can't?

The denition of success differs from one person to

another. It depends on the targets set by the

individual. One considers himself as successful, if

he is rich and another by achieving the business

goals. Yet another may be treated as successful

on getting a promotion. During our childhood, we

were told to study hard and score high to good

ranks. That was success then. Later, when

graduated, getting a good job is success. Once

employed, achieving the budgetted targets and

getting promotion is success. Getting married, a

dream house, purchasing all luxury items for the

house, luxury car etc are all treated symbols of

success by many people.

Perhaps the most important realization that an

individual can make in their quest for personal

growth is that there is no single formula that

denes the path to personal success. We all have

different goals and priorities, which mean that

different activities and attitudes will make us feel

good about ourselves. So how is it that we can

dene success for each individual based upon his

or her natural strengths and weaknesses as well

as inherited personality types? To be successful is

to understand what is important to you, to

recognize your weaknesses without hiding behind

them, to strive for balance as well as open new

doors in life. Successful means being able to

understand what is important to you. If we spend

our time and effort trying to meet somebody else's

idea of success and ignore or belittle any of our

contrasting views, then we will nd ourselves

exhausted and unhappy. One cannot be

successful until they have reached this mindset of

happiness; it is not possible for one to be

successful unless they are happy with their goals

and achievements.

Personally I can argue that there is no actual specic key to success but many keys to achieving it. It is said that “Success isn't the destination but the journey”. Success should be measured by the amount of dedication, determination and passion put into making it real.

10 Essentials for Success:

After studying the successful people in many different elds, it is learnt that

a) All successful people have some common habits.

b) They are not born with those habits, but they acquired them and the most good thing is

To attain success, the following qualities are considered essential. Whatever one's denition of success, to achieve it, the following habits/traits will help reaching one's goal.

1. “Recognise your strengths”

Yo u m a y l o v e d o i n g c e r t a i n t h i n g passionately. That may become your hobby. But, if you are not having the required strength to complete the same, you may not succeed. Hence, follow the strengths you have, which will lead you to your success. Think about what you can do so well that you can dominate your eld in a given time. You

should also love it. Successful people often choose their career paths by thinking rst about what they are good at and next about what they love to do. Make your own SWOT analysis.

2. “Ambition”

Successful people do not dream about being the best in their section or department. Most wanted to change the world. The magnitude of their goal will be the driving force for their success. Dene your DREAM. Attach a date to it and it will become a GOAL.

3. “Stay Positive”

Success will not come easily. One may need to struggle for it. There will be a number of people to distract you from your goal and tell you all negative things and distract you. Successful people know how to handle disappointment that keeps them from getting down and staying down. Remember, 'In a Boxing bout, defeat will not be declared when you fall down, but defeat will be declared when you fail to rise again'. Positive thinkers know that their future will be bright.

4. “Stay Organised”

Majority of people decide what they want to do and then they just do it - simple and organized. No postponement, even it is a minute one. Never leave loose ends untied. 'Take it easy' is not the road to success – but 'Make it Easy' attitude will take you to Success.

5. “Develop a strong support system”

Most of the successful people have a partner or family member who is supportive of what they do. They know they have somebody to lean on when needed. Surround yourself with a Team who believe in you and willing to support you in achieving your dream.

6. Failure and Success go together

Every successful person will not succeed in his/her rst attempt. Success requires consistent and persistent efforts. Hang on to your dream. Remember the adage “Try and

Try till you succeed”. Stay put to your Goal till the end.

7. Continuous Learning

Successful people do not stay static. They are continually improving their knowledge and skills and use mentors and coaches to accelerate their improvement.

8. Being Grateful

Give credit to those who helped you along. Don't take your current position for granted and ignore minor inconveniences on your way to the major aim.

9. Hard Work

Nobody got to where they are now without working hard and staying persistent during their tough times. This might be obvious, but it's a lot easier to say than to do. Stay focused on your goals. Walk the extra mile when required.

10. “Plan your path”

While xing your goals, set them in measurable stages – Short term and long term, which gives a sense of accomplishment on completing each stage and motivates for next stage. My mentor always said “Fail to Plan is Planning for Failure”. Prepare an Action Plan/Road Map from where you are now to wherever you want to be. Set interim stages and set the targets (dates) by which you aim to reach that stage.

Denitive – I want a Luxury life is not denite. Be specic about luxury

Realistic – Not abstract – Aim should be crystal clear

Emotional – The result should give you immense pleasure and you should sacrice something for it

Achievable – Too big a goal in too short time cannot be achieved. It should stretch your efciency level.

Moral – It should be legal and moral
