Thank you to our families, children and staff for your hard work and commitment to our amazing school. Our highlights have included our sports carnivals, our NAIDOC Assembly, Open Night, our Art Exhibition, Book Week and our STEAM Display. We enjoyed the Market Day Project run by our senior students on Wednesday. They raised a record of over $1,800. The money raised contributes directly to our Year 6 Leavers activities, including a present to the school. Over the past 2 years the Year 6 Leavers have donated a tree to the school. Market Day is one of my favourite days of the year. There is always a lot of excitement and our students learn about economics in a very real way. Students from across the school love attending Market Day and participating in the activities.

Miss Vale’s Kindy classes won the Pizza Party prize as they raised the most money from the Loose Change Challenge. P&C did a wonderful job in organising the Loose Change Challenge and setting up the Pizza Party. I attended the party on Wednesday. The winning class not only enjoyed pizza but they had drinks, balloons and music to add to their celebration. A wonderful way to end their day at school.

P&C have gifted classes across the school with a cheque to spend on games and also will be purchasing more outdoor tables and chairs. Thank you to you all for helping to make our school a welcoming place.

We hosted the Interschool Athletics carnival on Thursday. I am proud to say the Woodland Grove students demonstrated great sportsmanship. They tried their hardest and won some and lost some. Throughout the day they were respectful and showed courage. Congratulations to West Byford and to our champion students: Yr3 Girl Runner Up- Darcy B Yr 5 Boy Champion- Beau J Yr 5 Boy Runner Up- Conjay T Yr 6 Boy Runner Up- Ethan M

What a great way to end a very BIG term. We did not even have to get changed for school. I love Pyjama Day. It was wonderful to see you everyone getting in to the spirit of the day. I loved wearing my ugg boots all day! Pyjama Day has been another successful event for the Leavers Committee with funds raised going towards our Year 6 leavers activities for 2021 and in to 2022.

Term 4 Term 4 begins on Monday 11th October. I look forward to seeing all our families back at school on 11th October.

Please note we have re-considered our Term 4 Calendar. We will be staging our Musical “Lion King Kids” on Friday 5th November at Byford Secondary College. Given that this a significant production to be held at night we have decided to postpone our Carols by Candlelight until 2022. We will not hold Carols by Candlelight this year. We will hold it next year. In this way we will hold our Musical and our Carols every second year.

Our Book Awards will still go ahead on Thursday 7th December.

Happy Holidays Wishing all our families a relaxing and enjoyable break. It has been a busy term and I am sure you will all enjoy some ‘down time’. I know I will. I look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 11th October.

Calendar Don’t forget to check in with our website calendar regularly to stay up to date with what’s happening in the school. While we try our best to limit changes to our scheduled events, our website calendar is our source of truth and we encourage our families and community to use this calendar. http://woodlandgroveps.wa.edu.au/whats-happening/calendar/
