Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus,
Occasionally a priest will hear a statement like, "I give enough money to this church that I should have (fill in the blank for any kind of request you might imagine)." Sometimes it is made by chil-dren of a parishioner that "My parent has given enough money over the years that we deserve . . . (again fill in the blank with any kind of request you might imagine).
I have never, do not, and will never look at a pa-rishioner's contribution record to make any deci-sion in the parish. That is something I do not do.
That is also true for any contributions that are made to the annual Charity & Development Ap-peal at the Diocese or any capital campaigns which have happened or may happen in the fu-ture.
Giving decisions are a personal and prayerful de-cision between you and God. I do not base my relationships or decisions on that information, because I choose to never know that information.
When I was the pastor of a very wealthy parish, every conversation seemed to come back to how much money a person gave to the parish. Many of the people at that parish felt they were pur-chasing my services rather than giving joyfully to God, and they were sure to let me know when I wasn't earning my keep!
Your contributions are a true gift from God (through you) to the parish, but our prayers and services are not based on those records. Except for the fact that we keep those records to make the IRS happy, I would otherwise choose to never record those gifts.
May God continue to bless and prosper our par-ish. Fr. Bud

“The worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass is of
inestimable value for the life of the Church”.
St. John Paul II
What a magnificent gift it is to be able to spend our time with the Real Presence! Anyone who would like to give to Jesus one hour a week in adoration (here in the Adoration Chapel at St. Clement of Rome Parish), please call the Parish office.
ST. VINCENT de PAUL FOOD BOX
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus asks Bartimaeus: “What do you want Me to do for you?” And he answers, “Master, I want to see.” Let us ask Jesus for the grace to ‘see’ our broth-ers and sisters who are poor and lonely.
Thank you for all the food donations we gather from the church each day. This week we are ask-ing for SNACKS (ie: Chips, Cookies, Protein Bars) and JELLY / JAM. Your help is greatly appreciated. Without you, we cannot serve.
PLEASE LEAVE DONATIONS IN THE ST. VINCENT de PAUL BOX
IN THE VESTIBULE OF THE CHURCH.
For St. Vincent de Paul assistance,
please call: 602 - 394 - 3770
DIVINE MERCY “I am love and Mercy Itself. There is no misery that could be a match for My Mercy; neither will misery exhaust It, because as It is being granted, It increases. The soul that trusts in My Mercy is most fortunate, because I Myself take care of it”. Diary 1273 pg. 459
Join the Divine Mercy Group by making a per-sonal commitment to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet every Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 pm in the privacy of your own home.
Are YOU a Franciscan at Heart?
We find our strength and fellowship in a rich Liturgy. We strive to follow the way of St. Francis in committing to live the Gospel life. A life of the values of peace, justice and the loving embrace of all people.
In the year 1221 St. Francis formed “The Third Order of Penance”. Today we are called the Order of Franciscan Seculars or OFS. We are men and women who live in the secular world yet seek to follow St. Francis and live the Gospel life.
Is God calling YOU to the Secular Franciscan Order? For more information call Dan Medina at 623-933-3690.
Serving adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities
Entertainment, educations, games, crafts, gar-dening, community outings, and exercise fill the daily agenda. Members are involved and help direct their daily activities, including meal prep-aration. Indoor and outdoor spaces offer invit-ing, opportunities for group activities or private time, just like home.
The days here are fun, energetic, and infused with learning, compassion, and care for adults with intellectual challenges. Fostering self-esteem and life skills, Helping Partners offers an exceptional opportunity for growth.
Group Supported Employment (GSE) This special program provides members with employment skills training and opportunities. Many GSE workers are able to obtain special training and certifications, such as a food han-dlers card, work in real-life job opportunities and earn a paycheck.

Updating Our Parish Bulletin
Beginning in November our parish bulletin will start to change. The biggest thing you will notice is that it will be all in color. The more eagle eyed of you will notice that the printer has changed. The new printer is DIOCESAN PUBLI-CATIONS, INC. in Texas.
The printing company will also start to sell advertising in the bulletin as a way of letting us get the bulletin at no cost for printing. The cost for an all-color bulletin is well over $1,000 per week for the number of bulletins we receive. Selling the ads allows the company to offset those costs without making the parish pay for the service.
In the past, some bulletin companies told advertisers that some or all of their advertising costs came back to the par-ish. In my five years as your pastor I can tell you we have never received a single penny from advertising in the bulle-tin. (Much like we do not receive any money from the recycle bins at the back of the parish parking lot.)
The new printing company will also help us design a new parish website, and the advertisers will have the ability to have their ads on the electronic version of our bulletin each week with direct links to their own web sites.
We are also working to increase the information in the bulletin, and we’ve asked all the parish organizations to submit more information about their organizations so that we can include any new parishioners in knowing about our won-derful parish and organizations.
The new printing company will be in town in late October to sell advertising. If you have a favorite business you would like to see advertise with us, let them know to contact us so we can start the process of including them. Our bulletin reaches about 1,500 homes in the Sun City area each week. Many parishioners, including me, look first to our adver-tisers when they consider any kind of purchase.
This will be the beginning of changes to the bulletin. Help us grow the bulletin so that everyone can not only find the information they need about the parish, but also shop and support our important local businesses.
