Being the second born it fell to me to be the annoying little brother that was the thorn in the oldest side. One thing I remember doing as a little kid was to call things by what they were not. Instead of asking for the Applejacks at the breakfast table I would ask for the Jumpingjax. Annoyed my brother to no end. I knew it did which made it all the more fun. “Trust in the Lord, and do good;

faithfulness” Psalm 37:3

Math is one of those subjects in school that always gave me problems. One of the reasons it was so difficult is the fact that if you bomb the chapter on long division then chances are when you face the test on the Pythagorean theorem it will be another big F. Math is the kind of subject where one must master one aspect to gain another.

Like math, Christianity can be like the building blocks of math. One cannot move on to adding and subtracting in negatives without first mastering adding and subtracting in whole numbers. Peter uses this concept in 2 Peter 1:5-8.

Some people are just difficult to love. I believe my brother felt this way about me much of the time. Being the second born it fell to me to be the annoying little brother that was the thorn in the oldest side. One thing I remember doing as a little kid was to call things by what they were not. Instead of asking for the Applejacks at the breakfast table I would ask for the Jumpingjax. Annoyed my brother to no end. I knew it did which made it all the more fun. What was even better is when he would hall off and hit me then be made to apologize for doing so.
