Membership Frequently Asked Questions

1. Question: If I have a membership and book a space, can the people attending with me

pay me to use the space?

Yes. If you would like to recoup the cost of your membership during space bookings, you can ask people to contribute. A recommended amount is $5.00/ person for small groups.

2. Question: What do homeschool families usually book the space for?

Some of the suggestions parents have had for the space include: Parents who would like to meet to plan their curriculum. A parent working with a group of homeschool students while the other parents do their shopping/ meet in the coffee shop; Presentations on Homeschool Strategies (bringing in a guest speaker); Setting up science experiments (chemistry, electricity) with CLC resources that are difficult to set up at home/ unavailable to the learner.

3. Question: Is it possible for parents to meet once a month or so to talk about their

homeschool experiences and to share ideas?

Yes! One the frequent requests we had last year was to organize homeschool “debrief/meet and greets.” Throughout the year, the CLC organized many public events; however, if you are interested in booking the CLC for regular meetings, you may either use a membership, or book the space as a non-member for $35.00/ group.

4. Question: I am worried that the space will always be booked and that I won’t be able to use my membership for space bookings. What do you recommend?

We do our best to create as many booking possibilities throughout the week, including evenings and weekends. If you are interested in booking a space, try to do so at the soonest possible date.

5. Question: The Membership includes “other special discounts.” What are some examples of these discounts?

Membership includes discounts on workshops (save $10), MakerSpace (save $10.00), Space bookings (save $35.00) and classroom resources, such as Reading and Writing workbooks, free printable and photocopies, Special Guest Tickets (25% off); and more to be announced…
