Are you ready to sneak around like spies? (Pause.) Here we go!” (Continue as long as there’s interest.) Superhero, Superhero, Where’s Your Duck? Big Idea: Play a fun game by hiding a small superhero duck in one child’s hand while another child has to guess who has it. What You Need: Small Superhero Duck What You Do: Before the Activity: Guide the children to sit in a circle. During the Activity: Choose a child to be “It.” Have “It” sit in the middle of the circle and ask him to close his eyes. Give the duck to one of the children sitting in the circle, and tell her to hide the superhero behind her back. Have the children say, “Superhero, superhero, where’s your duck?” Then ask “It” to open his eyes and try to guess who had the duck. Give “It” three chances to guess. Continue the game by allowing the child who hid the duck behind her back to be the next “It.” Continue the game until every child has had a chance to be “It.” What You Say: Before the Activity: “Let’s play a game! We are going to play, ‘Superhero, Superhero, Where’s Your Duck?’ Everyone sit in a circle.” During the Activity: “One person is going to be ‘It.’ They will sit in the middle of our circle and close their eyes. I will give one of our friends this duck (hold up) to hide. The person who is ‘It’ will have three chances to guess who is hiding the duck. Whoever is hiding the duck will be “It” the next round and sit in the middle of the circle. Are you ready to play?” (Pause.) After the Activity: “That was so much fun! You did a great job hiding and finding the superhero duck. In our Bible lesson today, we heard about someone who hid something too! Do you remember what it was? (Pause) Yes! She hid the spies, because she knew that they were a part of God’s army. I’m so thankful that Rahab had the courage to help those spies, because she knew that they followed God. What You Need: Parachute What You Do: Before the Activity: Spread the parachute out and allow each child to grab a piece to hold onto. During the Activity: Have the children bring their arms up and down to move the parachute up and down. As the parachute goes all the way up, say, “Hide!” and have the children let go of the parachute and go under it to hide as it comes down over them. The parachute should balloon up and come down slowly. Do this several times. Next, with your help, have the children grab ahold once more and tell all of the girls to let go and go under the parachute and hide. Then ask the girls to come back out and hold the parachute again. Then, with your help, have all of the boys let go and go under the parachute and hide. Then ask the boys to come back out and hold the parachute again. Repeat as many times as desired. What You Say: “Great hiding! You were just like the spies when Rahab hid them! Rahab did a great job hiding the spies in our Bible lesson today. She kept them safe and hidden while mean guys are looking for them! I’m so thankful that Rahab had the courage to help those spies, because she knew that they followed God. Rahab was courageous, because she knew she wasn’t alone. God was with Rahab! And when God is with you, you can be courageous too. Who is always with you? God is always with me.”

Small Group Time What you Need: Parent Take Home Card, Playdoh, Star Cookie Cutters, Rolling Pins, and Sticker Roll SMALL GROUP LEADER (SGL): “Today’s Bible lesson was so cool! Where’s my SUPER small group so we can talk about it? I see SUPER [child’s name] and SUPER [child’s name] and (call each child in your small group and give them a high-five as they come to you). “Now, who can tell me what SUPER thing God helped Rahab do in our lesson? (Pause for response.) God helped Rahab hide the good spies. That’s right! It took a lot of courage to do that—a lot of SUPER courage. Rahab believed in God’s power, and that gave her the courage to do the right thing and hide the good spies. You can be SUPER courageous too, because God is always with you. Who is always with you?” CHILDREN and SGL: “God is always with me.” SGL: “Do you think it was hard for Rahab to hide the spies? I mean, what if she got caught hiding them? Sometimes doing the right thing can be hard, but knowing God is with us gives us the courage to do the right thing anyway. That is why she was SUPER courageous and did what God wanted her to do. I want us to be SUPER courageous and do what God wants us to do too!” SGL: “Now let’s sit down for prayer time. One, two, three, eyes on me! Let’s make a list of good things that are hard to do, like telling the truth or saying we’re sorry when we’ve done something wrong. When we pray, we can ask God to help us be SUPER courageous and do the right thing, even when it’s hard. So tell me, what’s one good thing that’s hard to do?” “Ok, it’s time to review our lesson. I am going to ask you some questions and you will get a sticker for answering them. I have some really cool stickers today. Are you ready? (Pause.) Great! (Ask the children the questions from the “Parent Take Home Cards”. You can also make up additional questions from our video lesson. Don’t forget to ask them to say their memory verse for another sticker. You can repeat the same questions over and over as repetition is good for preschoolers.) You are such great listeners!” “Now I’ll pray before it’s time to say goodbye until next week.”
