Dear friends and donors,
Charity organization Serbs for Serbs have
finally registered in the state of Illinois in United
States by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity
organization Serbs for Serbs is currently in the
process of applying for a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization status. We registered organization in
Jun 2010 and we have already started working and
began raising donations.
Since this is our fresh start in the United States
please excuse us for any difficulties and mistakes
that we make in the beginning.
About Us
The mission of Charity organization Serbs for
Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans,
Serbs and their friends through planned
projects, social and humanitarian activities in
order to develop and foster better society for
future generations and provide aid for
underprivileged families in need.
Although there are many humanitarian
organizations and associations, help often doesn't
reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary
administration, missing information and slow
decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late
to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and
embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000
children daily die around the world because of
starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the
blind and deaf.
We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation
of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing
number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of
the population and generally bad economic
condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of
Srpska and Montenegro and other countries in the
Balkan.
An average couple has "fallen" on one child.
Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in
its own country in the following century if the
nation, individuals and government don't wake up
from the nescient in which they've fallen!
On the other hand, nobody is talking about the
families with many children which grieve by living
in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday
struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their
desire for implementing rights which belong to
them. Their life stories, fears and problems are
identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order
to gain the attention of the public, media and even
state. That's why the idea of the Charity
organization Serbs for Serbs arose. Organization
was formed by a group of young and trustful
people, who are united by the common vision of
helping families blessed by many children and who
are aware of the fact that even a small help means a
lot for those who don't live in a material excess.
We are united by the humane idea to help the
poorest part of the Serbian nation.
Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to
revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora
which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian
heritage as well as all good people throughout the
world with minimal, but constant monthly
donations.
We hope and believe that there is also a grain of
doing good and that you will join us in the endless
struggle against poverty.
God bless and save all Serbian families with many
children and our honored donors who participate in
the noble effort to return smile on children faces.
CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

Ambition
The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to
affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our
projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop
better society for future generations.
Why Serbs for Serbs?
We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian
people in togetherness and brotherhood help through
humanitarian work and social aid.
Who do we help?
We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have
five or more children and live in terrible poverty.
How do we define “terrible poverty”?
Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or
more basic factors required for living: food, clothes,
shoes, and safe space for living.
Why do we help?
We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or
a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only
human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By
focusing our help on families with many children, we
directly affect on their stirring toward becoming
independent from social-dependable government
programs. Indirectly, we want to affect on birth rate of
Serbian people that has been in great decline in last 20
years.
What are our long term goals?
- family is ready to support itself daily and manage to
pay all required expenses and bills
- their children are encouraged to continue with school
and raising their own family
- our donors are satisfied with the activities and they
are ready to help other families
- our organization is satisfied with the results
- family is ready in the future to become our donor and
if necessary help other families that are in need of help
Who do we need in organization?
We need members and donors that will secure financial
stability through supporting our programs and activities
in the future. Donors may join our daily activities
within the organization in order to coordinate our work
better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several
hours per week for actual work within the organization.
Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would
be determined by the required projects and their
personal interest. From that group of volunteers we
would look for future leaders of organization.
We want to inform all donors and friends of
humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs that live
in the United States we have new Pay Pal account
so you can send your donation via email to:

We delivered firewood to family Tomic!
.
Five-member Serbian family Tomic, Goran father,
mother Ljiljana, children: Dragan (15), Dusan (14),
Katherine (6), can finally relax, because this winter will
be warm in their home. This five-member family living
in Bujanovac, approached our organization to help them
in the purchase of 6 m³ of wood. Goran's father, for
much of the month work in Belgrade, he was the only
income in the family, with a monthly income of only
15.000 dinars(around $200) ??
Another problem they have is not only there is not
available work, as is the case in rest od Serbia, but Serbs
in general cannot get jobs because slowly all the major
functions in the city are occupied by Albanians, which of
course bring other albanians to work, and do not want
Serbs to hire. So that is why the life of Serbs in
Bujanovac is extremely difficult. Thanks to God and our
donors, we managed to help family Tomic, they would
like to thank the entire organization.
See the account of purchase for 6m cubic firewood and
accounts for the transport of our representatives from
Nis to Bujanovac and back.

The night of donor pancakes
On December 3rd in Ušter, Charity organization Serbs
for Serbs in Swizerland and KUD Nikola Tesla from
Ušter held the second „Night of donor pancakes“. The
total of 48 people attended the party, most of them being
the members of KUD Nikola Tesla and the friends of the
SfS organization. It was a great party in which the guests
enjoyed in pancakes, music, social games and
competition in „nintendo“, and finally managed to
collect 500 franks. We use this opportunity to thank all
the guests who contributed this donor and friendly
gathering as well as our hosts Maja Jovanović and KUD
Nikola Tesla!
SfS visited family Premović
Photos
On Sunday, December 13, we visited the Premović
family from the village Prislonica near Čačak. We
contacted them through the prior of the Vujan monastery
and our friends of the organization My Joy from
Germany. The Premović family is consisted of 8
members, single mother Ružica and seven children:
Jelena (2002), Luka (2001), Mirjana (2000), Živka
(1996), Ana (1994), Biljana (1992) and Aleksandar
(1991).
We first met prior Jovan in the Vujan monastery. The
monastery is only a several kilometres away from the
Premović's home.
It is known as a place where our previous patriarch Pavle
began his life as a monk. He was very ill when he came
to the monastery, without the chance to survive, but the
pray in front of the Holy relics of the unknown saint is
believed to have contributed to his healing.
Monthly Report www.SrbizaSrbe.us 2010
The aim of our visit to the Premović family was to get to
know them and together find a way to help them. We
used this visit to bring them some fruit and sweets, and
the book about Saint Sava. The house in which they live
was plastered and isolated not so long ago, and the
charity organization My Joy from Germany has
equipped the bathroom. However, more funds are
needed to finish the house inside.
We were happy to find out that this family has the
necessary conditions and the will to grow domestic
animals next to the ones they already have: two sows,
one goat and hens, so we will probably help them to get
more animals.
The members of the Premović family are modest and
quiet people. Although we didn't find all the children at
home, the youngest Jelena and Luka were smiled all the
time and they represented their family in the best light.
The two of them do everything together, and it seems
that the children have better relationships in modest
families, without envy or selfishness.
The mother has an income of about 15.000 dinars. The
two oldest children started to work and made things
easier for their family, so we hope that all of us together
can help them to become completely independent.

Serbian Monastery in New Carlisle,IN
Few members of Charity organizations Serbs for Serbs
from the U.S., visited today the Serbian Orthodox
monastery in New Carlisle, Indiana.
This monastery is a beautiful place that we recommend
for visit to every Serb and all Orthodox in U.S.A.
Monastery looks like an old medieval Serbian
monastery, but was built and consecrated in 1994. (Just
2 hours away from Chicago,IL)
Nesteled in the rolling hills of northwestern Indiana, far
away from the noise and bustle of big cities, on a
spaceus piece of wooded land that resembles the fertile
regions of Shumadija ,lies the Serbian Orthodox
Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God.
Although the monastery was build and consecrated in
1994, the idea of a Serbian monastery in America was
conceived much earlier and was beyond any doubt
guided by the Will of God. It was a reflection and the
realization of a long-time wish of mother
Evpraskija(Paunovic) , who later become the first
abbess of the monastery. Together with hieromonk
Gabriel and sisters Paraskeva and Antonina and with
blessing of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan, Mother
Evparaksija searched for a way to found a monastic
community in North America that would reflect the way
of life of such holy places as Zhicha ,Studenica and
Ljubostinja, and other old Serbian monasteries. The
funds for building the monastery came as a gift from
God: Mrs.Olga Popov, a devout Russian woman and a
great friend of the Serbian people left the sisterhood a
substantial amount of money for the monastery building
fund. By Divine Providence , the monastery never
lacked benefactors and donors.
The Monastery was consecrated on June 19, 1994 , on
the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the
Apostles. Holy liturgy was served by His Holiness the
Serbian Patriarch Pavle together with several bishops of
the Serbian Orthodox Church and numerous priests and
hieromonks from both Serbia and the Diaspora, in the
presence of many faithful people.
Location of the monastery:
32787 Early Road, New Carlisle,IN 46552
Enjoy in this pictures of this beautiful monastery.

New Help for Gugalj Family
Report: Добрина Кусмук, Рeпублика Српска
Monthly Report www.SrbizaSrbe.us 2010
Single mother of five children, Zdenka Gutalj from
East Sarajevo in the Republic of Srpska, and her
children have been helped twice. Zdenka somehow
cope alone and finds solutions and except last
summer when she asked for help to buy a
refrigerator she avoided to seek help. But this time
she did not have a choice. The youngest child,
Nemanja (11 years) who has problems with the
development had to go to a hospital in Banja Luka.
Cost for trip to hospital, no matter how small was it
was impossible for Zdenka to pay and we
approached for help.
She asked us to buy some clothe for Nemanja that he
could wear in thel. To help her pay the accommodation
and the way back ,because she simply cannot provide it
a bit. Nemanja received a lot of new things we bought
for him. By the way, we took his sister Bojana some
donated clothes for the girls while for the boys this time
we had nothing so we had to buy in Belgrade at the price
of 6,000 din.
We paid Zdenka (80 KM) for return ticket and gave her
money for the accommodation of two nights in Banja
Luka (85 KM). For this purpose we have spent 120 KM
from the accounts of Republic of Srpska. In any case,
this time we managed to come to the aid to children
whose parents barely manage to make ends meet and
simply contingencies cannot be covered. Nemanja has a
problem with the bone marrow and its growth is
completely slow. Zdenka hopes to help him with
hospital treatments .

New Help for Milic Family
Representatives of humanitarian organizations Serbs for
Serbs from Montenegro visited before the end of 2010
refugee family from Kosovo and Metohija - Milici
in Podgorica, Montenegro. A kind of New Year's help
for Family Milic is primarily fire-wood for heating
(confirmation) and this help was really necessary, and to
help itself came at the right moment, when cold days
started. Of course,we help this family with some food
(bill) . Complete support was in the amount of 500
euros.
As always, we were greeted warmly in the House of
Milic family. Their host and head of the family father
Milan is still at the hospital Brezovik, and his head role
is bravely but slowly taken by the boys - twins. It was
nice to see them to cleave the wood, enough to replace
her mother. Thank God, the children were healthy and
well and hope they will come to the right path and that
our humanitarian organizations will do at least a small
step to help that really happen.
Our action in Pribilovci will be done before
we planed
At the end of 2010. year, good news arrived in our
organization. Instead as we planned for about 30
months from now, eight members of families Miladin
Ekmecic, Serbian returnee families in the
Herzegovinian village Prebilovci, will get planned
Tractor in the period between Christmas and the
Orthodox New Year. With the help of many Serbs from
the Diaspora, and at the request of Serbs for Serbs in
Republiic of Srpska President Dobrina
Kusmuk, Republic of Srpska Government and its
relevant Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water
Management, today they allocated 14,305 KM (over
7,000 Euros) to our account.
On behalf of our humanitarian organizations and all
people who donated funds in our biggest project so
far, our heartfelt thanks.
