Introducing Our Summer Interns
We are so happy to have Troy LaRue and Taylor Brewster as our Student Movement
interns this summer! We have asked them a few questions to get to know them better.
You can read a handful of their answers below. To learn more about them, visit our
website: http://crosstownfamily.org/meet-our-summer-interns/
Troy LaRue
Age: 20 Hometown: Hereford, TX
Grew Up Attending: Central CoC Number of Siblings: 6
School: Oklahoma Christian University Year in School: Junior
Major: Preaching Ministry
Troy enjoys being outdoors, reading, and watching movies. He likes the
color sea green. His most cherished childhood memory is spending time
with his grandparents. His favorite family recipe is his grandmother’s
chicken soup. Growing up, he got into trouble for fighting with his little
brothers. Troy was baptized when he was 12, and he considers this his
most important event in his life so far. One of his favorite Bible verses is
Revelation 22:4. The hardest thing he’s ever done is studying abroad in
Europe for a semester in college. One of the difficult things he has learned in life is that
discipline is more important than motivation. His dream job is preaching the gospel. Someday
Troy hopes to be able to slap a bison, travel to every national park, and shoot a 12-point buck
or higher. His role model is his father because he is hardworking and lives his life in a very
purposeful way.
Taylor Brewster
Age: 19 Hometown: Tulsa, OK
Grew Up Attending: Dwtn Bixby CoC Number of Siblings: 1
School: Harding University Year in School: Sophomore
Major: Accounting/Management Information Systems
Taylor enjoys volleyball and baking. One of her favorite restaurants in
Tulsa is Yokazuna. She likes all of Taylor Swift’s songs. One of her
favorite memories from her childhood is playing outside with her friends
in the neighborhood. When she was younger, she got into trouble because
of her messy room. In the future, she would really enjoy working with
accounting because she loves numbers. A few things on Taylor’s bucket
list includes backpacking Europe, going to New York City, and going to a
One Direction concert. Also, she would like to learn how to surf someday. If she could spend
the whole day doing anything, she would enjoy going to the beach with friends and hammock
in the sun all day. Taylor looks up to her mom because she is a daily reminder of the woman
she wants and strives to be.
