Description ofthe Failure

Symptom Actions

10 xblinking

F0 OWI Sensorfailure

Permanent too longcycles.

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Clean OWI sensor.- Check the wiring between sensor and control board (CB).- OWI at self not measurable itself.- Force machine to perform initial OWI calibration by passing Active TestProgram.- Perform complete OWI calibration with running intensive or referenceprogram. It is strongly recommended not to use detergent or detergent tabletsduring the test program and OWI calibration.

1 xblinking

F1 NTC break Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, showsfailure indication

- Measure the resistor of the NTC (ca. 50 kΩ at 20°C). - Check, if over night in cold environment, lower than 3°C?

- To measure the NTC under build in conditions unplug the 3 pole NTCconnector on the CB (Slot NTC) and measure between PIN 1 and 3 on the cable.

2 xblinking

F2 Internal WaterLeakage

Water is in the drip tray - Repair the leakage on the sump, softener, regeneration dosage and tub.- Check housing of motor pump heater (MPH), when worn, replace the completeMPH unit.

- Check foam level in the appliance- Check with customer what kind of detergent was used (washing tabs combinedwith short washing cycles can produce too high foam level).- Check inlet hose connection on water tab if soiled.- Check spray arms, if holes are blocked.- Measure the coil of the heater => ca. 25 Ω. - Measure between coil and the metal cover (over 500kΩ). - Check if the output of the CB has ca.230V => when not, control board (CB) isdefective. (See picture left)

- Check NTC sensor => 50 kΩ at 20°C.

Explanation: 25 minutes after Heater relay switched ON, the failure indicationwill appear.

3 xblinking

F3 HeatingSystemDefective

Poor cleaning resultsPoor drying results

Exchange heating element. On a MPH unit check and exchange the pump inaddition. Reassemble all hoses.

- Check the pump housing and remove foreign objects.- Check the outlet hose and install it correct.- Clean the sump and filter.- Clean & unblock the siphon outlet part.- Clean OWI sensor.- Check the solenoid of drain pump => ca. 150Ω. - Check the WI if the switch is working. Replace WI/ OWI.- Check 230V on drain pump connector after “Break by Customer”

4 xblinking

F4 DrainingFailure

Drain pump starts andafter 2 min. the WIdetects sump not empty

- Check connection between Spray pump (Variable Speed Motor) and controlboard.- Check the voltage on the motor. BUS: 5V DC (outer pins of connector)Motor: 230V AC.

5 xblinking

F5 VariableSpeed MotorFailure

After 5 trials toreactivate the spraypump motor the cyclestops before regularend, drain pump drainsout, failure indication

- - F5shownonly inSAM

Spray PumpMotor Blocked(MPH orSmart motorunit)

Soiled dishes, water inthe drip tray,Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, no failureindication, only in SAM

- Check pump housing if blocked.- Check motor rotation housing if blocked or worn.- Check motor wiring => ca. 40 Ohms.- Clean sump and tubes.- Replace pump motor.

6 xblinking

F6 Water TapClosed

Only F6 failureindication

- Check filter on hose and inlet connection of the dishwasher.- Open water tap.- Check water inlet hose if blocked.- Check water inlet valve (WV1 => coil has ca. 3,5kΩ. - Check if flow meter (FM) is turning.

7 xblinking

F7 Flow MeterFailure

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Check inlet hose connection on tap if soiled.- Check if the flow meter is soiled. Check if the reed relay is switching.- When sump filling ends in less than 30 sec, exchange aqua stop inlet hose.- When water supply pressure is too high, reduce the flow through of the tap.

- Clean blocked sieve- When water strongly foams advice customer to adjust the rinse aid.- When Pot is turned and filled with water advice customer.- When no stable spray pump (SPM) working clean dirty spray arm.

8 xblinking

F8 Water LevelFailure

Foam in the tub / soiledsieve.Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindicationBefore the cycle stops aphase repetition and/orwater filling may occur.

Explanation of failure occurrence:WI (mech.): the WI switches too often, more than 20 times in 2 minutes.OWI: The permanent digital OWI-Signal is missing water.VWI: The Spray Pump Motor measures permanently the water level. When thewater level decreases, the motor current will diminish and the control boardindicates the failure F8.

9 xblinking

F9 ContinuousWater Inlet

Cycle stops beforeregular end, failureindication, drain pumpdrain out until sump isempty. When the levelof 1.5 lt. is reached, thedrain pump runs again.

- Close water tap and check if F9 still occurs. If so, exchange flow meter.- Measure resistor of water inlet valve (WV1) ca. 3,5kΩ. WV1 should be closed. - Check if Output of control board (CB) is permanently switched on. If so,exchange CB.

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Clean the lens of the OWI.- Check the wiring Connection between sensor and control board (CB).- OWI calibration not performed*=> run and pass complete test program.- Change defect OWI.

11 xblinking

FA OWI (OpticalWaterIndicator) –Failure

Too long wash cycle orshort wash cycles withbad result.

*Explanation: After each replacement of OWI, Control Board or Control Boardreprogramming by SAM module, it's mandatory necessary to calibrate the OWI.In order to calibrate the OWI, you need to start and pass active test program, then initial calibration is performed. The whole OWI calibration will becompleted during next regular cycle (only in intensive or reference program). Itis strongly recommended not to use detergent or detergent tablets during the testprogram and OWI calibration. Please note that wrong OWI calibration mayincrease cycle duration significantly.

11 xblinking

FA mechanical WIFailure

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Measure the Micro switch of the WI with a multi meter. Lower 5 Ohms.- Check contact of the WI.- Clean WI, check whether WI blocked.- Check wiring between WI and control board.

12 xblinking

FB MDV (MotorDiverterValve) –Failure

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Check, if the upper and lower spray arms alternate all 30-40 sec.?- Remove the MDV unit and check if the diverter disc in the sump is stuck?- Check if 230V comes from the control board (ZW, DVH) to the MDV?How to check:Start test program and wait until back rinse is over. After the start of the regularwater-inlet the MDV has to have 230V in interval.- Check the 5V signal of cable between the MDV and control board (SAB,DVL)?- Check the solenoid of the MDV (approx. 6, 5 kΩ) and the cable to the MDV? (ZW, DVH).

13 xblinking

FC ASA Waterhardnesssensor Failure(only indicatedin the activetest program)

Cycle stops beforeregular end, drain pumpdrains out, failureindication

- Check wiring on the sensors of the water softener if interrupted or weakcontact.- Check wiring if interrupted or weak between electronic of Automatic SaltAdaptation (ASA) of the water softener and the control board.- If the electronic of the water softener is defective, then exchange the Softener
