PRAYER

PROCLAMATION OF GOD’S WORD

SCRIPTURE LESSON NT Pg. 200 Colossians 1:15-20; 25-29

SERMON Bishop Paul Leeland RESPONSE TO GOD’S WORD

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION Aer each petition we enter into the prayer together with these words: Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

INVITATION TO THE LORD’S TABLE

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Save us, O God, for we are surrounded by danger and we live in death’s shadow. Forgive us when we fail to stand with the suffering, when fear causes us to close our eyes to wrongdoing, when weakness makes us turn back from following you. Li us up to the hope and healing of the cross; make us bearers of the love of Jesus, poured our for the world. In his name. Amen. WORDS OF ASSURANCE In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Glory to God. Amen.

As a forgiven and reconciled child of God, you are invited to give your offerings and gis to God by placing them in the offering plate when you come forward to receive communion.

THANKSGIVING AND COMMUNION

*TAKING THE BREAD AND CUP

*THE GREAT THANKSGIVING The Lord be with you. And also with you. Li up your hearts. We li them to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. …we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. … as we proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. … now and for ever. Amen.

*THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

THE PASSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

PRAYER Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE PASSION

GOING FORTH AS WITNESSES TO THE WORLD

*BENEDICTION

*SONG “The Wonderful Cross”

Verse 1 When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of Glory died My richest gain I count but loss And pour contempt on all my pride

Verse 2 See from His head His hands His feet Sorrow and love flow mingled down Did e'er such love and sorrow meet Or thorns compose so rich a crown

Chorus O the wonderful cross O the wonderful cross Bids me come and die and find That I may truly live O the wonderful cross O the wonderful cross All who gather here by grace Draw near and bless Your name

Verse 3 Were the whole realm of nature mine That were an offering far too small Love so amazing so divine Demands my soul my life my all CCLI Song # 3148435 Chris Tomlin | Isaac Watts | J. D.
