“Bringing together creatives to perform musical theatre”.
Founded in Spring 2014, Night Project Theatre brings together performers,
directors and industry creatives to present musical theatre in intimate
venues from either new portfolio or undiscovered gems that deserve a larger
audience.
‘Musicals Discovered II’ follows on from our first showcase performed in
2015 and opens our 2017 season, following critically acclaimed and sell-out
performances of The Last Five Years and Dracula last year. Musicals Discovered
is all about giving a platform to new or undiscovered pieces, so we hope you
find something in tonight’s programme that will encourage you to explore
more.
As an independent enterprise we rely on our audience to keep the ‘Project’
going, so thank you for your support. Please keep in touch by following us
on Facebook or Twitter, and we would love to see you on Mother’s Day for
Tea With Mum! More exciting new productions for 2017 will be announced
very soon.

A Little About
One Good Soul, inspired by Brecht’s The Good Person of Szechwan, is a new
musical to be premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It tells the story of
Shen Te, a village prostitute selected by the Gods to save the world from being
destroyed. The cast of students from Blue Coat School, Coventry, are raising
funds to support the Fringe performances. Please support them if you can.
A woman stands alone on a railway platform and the world rushes by as in
slow-motion her life disassembles itself. At first he was just another commuter
sitting on the opposite side of the Waiting Room, but it soon became clear
that her whole life had been leading towards this moment. and nothing would
ever be the same again.
The Waiting is a work in progress by Night Project Theatre with Chris Davis.
Initially conceived as a devised project with the Students of PQA Coventry
in 2016, Google Box was inspired by the television show of the same name.
Putting the lives of viewers into the spotlight through the distorted lens of
a television show, their emotions are depicted through a variety of musical
numbers as the TV programmes are acted out by the ensemble through
dialogue and physical theatre.
